Yesterday, Austin Carlile took to Twitter to break some major news that would definitely change the fate of Of Mice & Men and his own future career. Carlile left a statement letting fans know he was going to be leaving the band. “The band will now still continue on just the four of them, and I wish them the best of luck without me heading into 2017,” Carlile continued. “I will be here in Costa Rica, where I have now moved, continuing to heal, rest, and write. I will not stop playing music, I am still able to sing and I’m hungry for what is next to come even though I have no idea what that may be.” Carlile battles the rare disease called Marfan Syndrome which has taken a toll on his health which made it quite difficult for him to constantly tour. As for Of Mice & Men they will be continuing on without Carlile as a four piece. This is the statement they had left on their Facebook. "It's with heavy hearts that we announce Austin’s departure from the band for reasons pertaining to his health. As many of you are aware, Austin suffers from a rare connective tissue disorder called Marfan syndrome & has been struggling with the physical demands of touring since the band began. After his most recent series of surgeries at Stanford University Hospital, following the cancellation of our European headlining tour, his team of doctors informed him of the damage that performing, & more specifically his aggressive vocals, have been causing his body. They warned that if he were to continue on doing so, it would cause permanent & irrevocable damage to his spine & nervous system. Following the advice from his team of specialists, Austin decided it best that he step away from the band & change his lifestyle to better his health. Though we're heartbroken that he can no longer continue, his health has always been of utmost importance to us & we support him now in this decision & are proud of his perseverance over the years. We've had an amazing & unforgettable past few years making music & touring the world together & the 4 of us look forward to sharing the next chapter of the band's story with you. All previously announced shows will proceed as planned & we thank you for your continued love & support. We couldn't do this without all of you! See you real soon. -Aaron, Alan, Phil & Valentino" Down below is Carlile's official statement; What are your thoughts of Austin Carlile leaving Of Mice & Men? Please comment with them down below. This was a sad way to end 2016, but sometimes these things happen when you battle terrible diseases. I wish both Carlile and Of Mice & Men the best of luck as they enter 2017.

Bad Seed Rising formed in 2012 in the city of Baltimore, Maryland and currently signed to the record label Roadrunner Records. The band consists of Francheska Pastor vocals, Mason Gainer guitar, Louey Peraza bass, and Aiden Marceron drums. The band has a fresh hard rock sound which will keep you coming back for more, Pastor has a strong voice that can deliver each lyrics passionately. The band has an overall a dynamic that can be quite addictive. Bad Seed Rising has played their first Vans Warped Tour, toured with Adelitas Way and Islander. Also, Pastor has been named one of the hottest chicks in hard rock according to popular hard rock and metal magazina, Revolver, earlier this year. It is undeniable that Bad Seed Rising will be leaving their mark on the music world.

I hope you check out this band because they are very talented. I will also be doing this at the end of each month suggesting new or underrated bands/artists for you guys I hope you like it. Have a Happy New Year if I do speak to you anytime soon. As always, See you in the pit! Mari Lozano We music lovers love going to concerts, but there comes an instant in time where we cannot attend a concert or a certain musician or band just never comes to our city whenever they have a headlining tour. So here is my concert bucket list... PVRIS Sure, I saw PVRIS when they played Warped Tour 2014 but playing a festival doesn't always translate the same when they play a venue of a headlining tour. PVRIS are taking off and quick I predict that when their second album comes they will gain traction and fast. It would just be nice to see this incredible band in a smaller venue before they start playing much larger ones. Pierce The Veil This post hardcore band are going places and fast especially after "Circles" off their most recent album Misadventures has received radio play on alternative stations. Unfortunately I have never seen Pierce The Veil in a live setting before which is a shame! This band has been well regarded for their amazing live performances and I would love to experience one of their live shows. Green Day Green Day have definitely left their mark on the music scene for many years to come with their politically charged lyrics and punk rock attitude. They aren't afraid to make a statement and one of their live shows would simply be unforgettable. These reasons have may led Green Day to be forever remembered in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Fall Out Boy After breaking up then reforming in 2013 Fall Out Boy remain revelent in the music scene and have been bigger and better than ever. This band can surely rock out some arena rock anthems that will get any crowd moving and I want to experience this in person and not just viewing it through live videos on YouTube. Marilyn Manson I have been a fan of this shock rocker for quite sometime. Marilyn Manson's shocking onstage persona and outrageous lyrics bring forth of a Manson concert. After listening to Manson for so long I think going to one of his concerts will make the heart of my younger self so happy. Manson maybe viewed solely on his actions but taking the time to listen to his music really gets you to think more so on the metaphors and imagery he uses in his songs.
~~~~~~~ What's your concert bucket list? Comment with them below as I would love to know! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari The APMAs are back! It will be held July 17th in Cleveland Ohio. So who are you hoping be nominated/wins a skully this year? Will you be streaming or attending the APMAs? I definitely will be, because who is not interested in the music award show that promotes alternative bands we know and love.
Until then See you in the pit, Mari Lozano Oh look! Another list... What did I tell you this is the end of the year where all favorite music outlets look back on the year of music and discuss it with you. I'm not original and I have no clue what I'm doing...I'm joking. This seems like a great way for you better to understand the music I enjoy and the bands I like to listen to. 5. Islander I had the opportunity to see Islander not to long ago, they are one of the openers for The Word Alive's Overdose Tour. I had no idea who any of the bands were other than The Word Alive. When they walked out on stage I found myself oddly intrigued. Before the set had even started their drummer went and individually thanked the people in front row for being their. I had never been to a concert like this before which I was something I really liked and appreciated. When their set began though I couldn't help but notice that their guitarist wears a sparkly dinosaur tale onstage. I had a feeling of confusion and intrigue when they began to play I found myself institantly hooked they were different and a little weird. In a simpler way of saying it...I loved it. 4. Mutemath I had the opportunity to see Mutemath with twenty one pilots on their summer headliner the Emotional Roadshow. I was entranced by their stage presense with their sound their lights set up and all things in between. They were very captivating and great band to see live. 3. Motionless In White How could I not include Motionless In White on this list? They are my all time my favorite band and I got to see them live at Warped Tour and each time they get better and better as a band. Being a fan of this band for so long is that with each time I've seen them live they've grown so much in popularity and get become more comfortable in their own sound. I will always see this band live when I have the opportunity and they have a high energy live show where you can always rock out hard in the crowd. 2. twenty one pilots I got to see twenty one pilots for the first time at their own headliner back in July. As a band with only two people in it Tyler and Josh make a energic live show which feels like opposed to having a band with the average 4, 5, or 6 member band. They can do it with only the two of them whether it be Josh doing a backflip off of Tyler's piano, Tyler crowd surfing in a hamster ball, or the incredible drum line they did during "Tear In My Heart." These guys are guaranteed to put on a great live show with several exciting things happening in their set. 1. The Word Alive Is it possible for a band to sound better live than a recording? I think yes with with The Word Alive! When I saw them on their headlining winter tour this past November I was simply blown away with the pure showmanship of the overall performance. Each member was dedicated to giving it their all when it came to how intimate show. They fed off the the energy of the crowd and vice versa it was a fun show where the audience was screaming their voices out especially when it came their popular song "Life Cycles." Overall it was a fun show and I consider myself very lucky to see Luke Holland live with the band before his departure. (Also; this concert made me loose my voice for a day.)
~~~~ This concludes my top live performances of 2016! If you ever seen these bands live let me know what your thought and what were your favorite bands that you saw live in 2016? Until then, See you in the pit 🤘 Mari Lozano Unfortunately this blog was created at the end of the year where all your favorite music outlets rave about their favorite music that took place in the past year. Am I going to be any different? Of course not! So as you probably awaited here are my top albums of 2016! 8. Death of a Bachelor by Panic! At The Disco This album was created by sole remaining member in the band, Brendon Urie, total creative control over the concept of the album. That's exactly what Urie did with the collection of songs that make up the album, a wide variety of albums that are have hip-hop and R&B influences, arena rock, and Frank Sinatra esc tracks on the album. They all come together to make up this highly anticipated album which came out in early 2016. Not only is the album is iconic though I have the feeling that album will be a monument in Brendon Urie's career. 7. Never Alone by Stitched Up Heart Stitched Up Heart's album is a fun light hearted rock/metal album. We really get to see this band grow into their own sound. This shows how they've matured and grown as musicians and have expanded their sound. Vocalist, Mixi, shows off with what she can do with her vocals. Each song has an impactful hard hitting punch in a way where you can rock out and dance to each song. This is the album that gets Stitched Up Heart the most recognition and brings them the head start in their musical careers. 6. Revolution Radio by Green Day Green Day are a monumental punk band who aren't afraid to speak their minds! This is one of my favorite albums from them since Amerincan Idiot. Actually, at times it seemed similar to the past album. To me it felt almost like this was the conclusion to the story of American Idiot. Others may disagree with the way I feel but, that's just how I feel. It had that same punk mentality that was thoughout and it just felt like it was the same band going back to the grassroots of what makes them who they are. 5. Every Trick in the Book by Ice Nine Kills Every Trick in the Book was in interesting concept for metalcore outfit Ice Nine Kills. Each song on the album took inspiration from a classic piece of literature some. Which is something that's been done in a song or two but I have never seen it been completed in a full length concept album. These songs really bring a new life and perspective of the story modernized and made relevant to the metalcore/Warped Tour band scene. Songs that really stood out from the pack were "Me, Myself, & Hyde" which was based off The Strange Case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, "Bloodbath and Beyond" based on Dracula, "Hell in the Hallways" based on Carrie and many more! (This is one counts because it came out in late 2015) 4. Power Under Control by Islander Islander are one of the new bands I found this year and I immediately fell in love with their sound. This new release is something fresh and new to the ear. This band can have a unique arrangement of sounds that can sound upbeat and have light reggae influences such as songs like "Better Day" (one of my personal favorites). The album also has songs that are more dark and aggressive which is perfect for concerts when they open up for heavy bands...for example their song "Devil Red." I'm immediately attracted to bands that have a varied sound where no two songs seem exactly the same. It's very hard to describe the sound of this album in a few simple words, but if you like bands with divsersified sounds then this album is for you! 3. Misadventures by Pierce The Veil Pierce The Veil's Misadventures is album that surely grow on you with listens, it's the perfect for an upbeat post hardcore album. These infectious tunes will definitely get stucked in your head having you feel "emo" all over again. Which is exactly how even the majority of music lovers felt since songs did get radio play from this album especially "Circles." Pierce The Veil fans waited long for the anticipated follow up to their previous album Collide with the Sky. A monumental album for the band which left fans wondering how they could follow up such a smash hit. Well, I'm here to stay this follow up to Collide with the Sky surpassed expectations and spiralled this album to be one of their best. 2. The Black by Asking Alexandria This was a big album for five piece metalcore band, Asking Alexandria. This was there album that proved they don't need Danny Worsnop to be a successful band they can carry their own. Unfortunately, this was there one and only album with Denis Stoff before his departure. This album really brough back to life what Asking Alexandria was in the early days. It brough back the heavy Asking Alexandria that all the fans seemed to love and everyone seemed to be enjoying the music that was released from the album. Denis Stoff abruptly left Asking Alexandria a few months ago and Danny Worsnop rejoined Asking Alexandria. So no songs are being played from this album at live shows, sadly. 1. Dark Matter by The Word Alive Dark Matter is the album that got me hooked to The Word Alive. The songs of this album had a dark mystique surrounding it, all the songs of the album are addicting, and fun to see in a live setting. Though there is not as much unclean vocals in this album compared to previous works vocalist, Telle Smith, really can keep a listener hooked with his clean vocals. Along with the instrumentation of the rest of the band they come together to make very dark songs that are perfect to listen to for every occation. This album really stood out to me from the rest of the albums due to the dark aspects of the songs. It wasn't nessecarily the "heaviest" album which doesn't even matter. The songs I connected with the most on this album and would suggest for future listeners to check out are "Dark Matter," "Oxy," and "Trapped."
~~~~~~~~~~ This concludes my list of my top albums of this past year, keep in mind that this is opinion based and I stand by my opinions.
