Album Reviews
Cane Hill, Louisiana based nu metal band, released their sophomore album Too Far Gone which was released with Rise Records. The album has a heavy influence of Alice In Chains and Korn throughout the album. It definitely had a consistent flow through the album you can hear how the band has grown since their debut album Smile. This album has absolutely no fillers and you can just through this album and listen to it and there is no dull moments in the album. Some songs on the album may surprise you, and you will be able to see this band in a whole new light. Definitely don't sleep on this album for 2018, it's going to be great!
Singing In The Swamp Definitely, my favorite song off of the album it's definitely not one of the heavier tracks on the album. I just love the lyricism in this album, to me when I hear the lyrics I think this song is about struggling with substance abuse. Some lines that stand out to me such as, "I don't feel ten feet tall," which reminds me of the Jefferson Airplane song "White Rabbit" which has the line "Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall." "White Rabbit" is about drugs and I feel that this "Singing in the Swamp" is about the negative aspects of drugs. (Though, I could totally be off that is just my speculation). Erased Another personal favorite of mine is "Erased," I love how almost melodic sounding this songs is. I love Elijah Witt's voice on this album, I think this track is haunting and something really can leave a lasting impression on the listener. It's a tragically haunting song that I absolutely love and I just can hear so much emotion in the track and I definitely think that this song is one that I will continue to come back to. It's flows well and easy to listen and has will just allow the mind to wander. Why? Cane Hill are own to put out songs that sound similar to nu metal band, Korn, dubbing them the nick name "Korn Hill" from fans. "Why?" is definitely a song that reminds me of Korn but I think that this is just so different sounding and experimental for the band. The bass in this song really stands out to me it just is so aggressive and in your face and when contrasting with Witt's vocals which are mainly clean in this track. It sounds like a hybrid of Korn and Nine Inch Nails and is definitely a nu-metal track that will remind you of the metal released in the '90s. Hateful One of the more heavier songs on the album that just is full of rage and aggression and his a very signature "Cane Hill" sound. I can see this as a fan favorite and a high energy in the live setting. I definitely really enjoy pure anger in this song and how it can sound chaotic yet put together at the same time. I definitely can see myself head-banging to this and blasted this out my car windows. Overall, I would rate this album 5 out of 5 stars, might I dare add? This is my favorite release of 2018...so for the rest of the year I'm going to have high expectations. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What did you think of Cane Hill's latest release leave a comment down in the description! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari

Australian pop punk band, Tonight Alive, have released a new album called Underworld catchy hooks, poppy choruses and riffy guitars. The album is the band's first album with their new label Hopeless Records, and it is a solid first release with the new label. Vocalist, Jenna McDougall, actually talked more about this in a video series she did with Alternative Press and APTV. The album is the first album I really sat down and listened from the band and I really thought this was a good album. Was it my favorite album I've ever heard? No. But I definitely that some of these songs have definitely stand out to me.
My Underworld (ft. Corey Taylor) This was definitely my favorite song off of the album. It, featured Corey Taylor the frontman of metal band, Slipknot, and hard rock band, Stone Sour. This song definitely was by far my favorite on the sound, it's a very simple almost ballad-like. I definitely that McDougall and Taylor's voices sound quite nice together and I think that out of all these songs that were released that I would come back to off of the album. Temple This was the lead single of the album and I definitely liked the contrasting elements of the song. By this I mean the poppy chorus and the more rock driven verses, I found myself coming back to this up until the album was released. It's catchy and you can find yourself coming back to this sound and album and song. Burning On This song reminded me a lot of PVRIS' older material, and I don't mean that as an insult to Tonight Alive at all. I think that they are doing well and it I really enjoy PVRIS' material when they were simply enjoyed the song quite a lot. It's one of my favorite's off of the band's most recent and I definitely think that song is something that I think that several Tonight Alive fans can resonate with on a personal level. Crack My Heart This was the second single released in support of the album, I loved how atmospheric this song was and I definitely that this song would make for a live setting and I think I would come back to this song. Much like Temple I loved how rocky this song was how it was driven by the guitar and didn't have much else going on largely production wise. I think Hopeless Records is a phenomenal record label when it comes to pop punk music. Overall, I would rate this album 3.5 out of 5 stars due to the fact I listen to more metal than I listen to pop punk. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What are your thoughts on Underworld, leave a comment down below! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari With the start of a new year you can look forward to your favorite bands and artist releasing new music that is surely going to be one of your favorites. Not very many bands have confirmed new albums yet but quite a few already have. So I decided to compile a list of some of the 2018 releases I'm looking forward to. 1. The Plot in You (Dispose)First up on our list, I have The Plot In You with their album Dispose, they album is set to be released February 16th with Fearless Records. I've really enjoyed the singles for this album "Feel Nothing" and "Not Just Breathing" definitely anticipate a album review for this. I recently got really into The Plot In You and can't wait to here their latest work in full. 2. Tonight Alive (Underworld)Normally I'm not a pop punk person I'm definitely more of a metalcore girl. Though when it was announced that Corey Taylor was going to be featured on Tonight Alive's album Underworld. The album is going to be released on January 12, 2018 so you can be expecting an album review in the future. I'm really enjoyed the song "Temple" and it something that I do come back to so I'm curious to here the album in full. 3. Cane Hill (Too Far Gone)Cane Hill's album Too Far Gone comes out on January 19th, 2018, I just got into Cane Hill and I'm totally in love with there sound I've been blasting Smile and loved almost every song on the track. I've really enjoyed the singles they have released in 2017 "Too Far Gone" and "Lord of Flies." I'm really hyped to see what their next album will sound like and I know this band is on the road to taking off very soon. 4. The Word AliveThe Word Alive are also due to release another album in the Spring of 2018. There not much information about the release of The Word Alive's upcoming album but we as said in an interview with Alternative Press vocalist, Telle Smith, said they would have music reminiscent of Deceiver. I enjoyed recent singles the band has released such as "Overdose" and "Misery" though it unknown if those songs will be featured on the full length. 5. Twenty One PilotsI don't know if I mentioned this before on my blog before but I really enjoy Twenty One Pilots, and they are rumored be releasing new music in 2018. I really enjoyed the music previously and I am looking forward to what they releasing next! I think that are doing something different than most people on radio today which is refreshing to hear on air instead of more of the same. 6. HalestormHalestorm have also been teasing about their fourth album, I'm definitely looking forward to it since I did enjoy the band's last album. I'm super excited to see what else Halestorm has up their selves because this is honestly such a talented rock band that still stays true to their rock n' roll roots. 7. VIMIC (Open Your Omen)VIMIC are also releasing an album this year, this will be be their debut album called Open Your Omen I really all enjoyed the music they've released thus far. I think that VIMIC's debut will definitely be a strong debut because their style of metal is heavy yet also really catchy making listener's want to go back in for multiple listens. VIMIC are definitely a band that will rock the metal scene once their debut comes out this year.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Happy new year everyone! I hope you all didn't party too hard on New Years Eve! Comment down below or tweet me with what albums you'll on the look out for this year! These are just the album's I'm looking forward that have been confirmed I'm sure there will be more later on in the year. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari The new year is almost upon us, and now I can compile a list of albums that I've really enjoyed this past year! Honorable mentions will be featured at the end of this article. So let's get right into the music at hand. 10. Last Young Renegade by All Time LowRATING: 2 out of 5 FAVORITE SONG: Nice2KnoU Overall, this album kind of a disappointment to me, which is why the rating of this album dropped so juristically. I really do prefer All Time Low's pop punk sound and personally this album was just to poppy for my liking. It was something that sounded overly produced, I think that would have to be my main complaint, I think what I looked about All Time Low's older material was they really focused on the on the actual instruments. 9. Coming Home by Falling In ReverseRATING: 4 out of 5 FAVORITE SONG: Loser I'm far from being a big Falling In Reverse fan, but I decided to checkout their new album after seeing them live with Pierce The Veil earlier this year. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the quality of this album it's not that cheesy scene kid music and actually kind of mature. It's not something that I would normally reach for in my collection but I think that this album was very well done and I did enjoy the sound they went for I feel like it was well achieved. So I must give praise where it is due. 8. Heaven Upside Down by Marilyn MansonRATING: 4 out of 5 FAVORITE SONG: Saturnalia I never got a chance to review Marilyn Manson's tenth studio album, even though it was one of my favorites of the year. I definitely did enjoy Manson's new album I think that he really experimented with several different sounds throughout the album and it transitioned well. It was brought elements from Manson's older material and created fresh 2017 sound. 7. All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell by PVRISRATING: 4 out of 5 FAVORITE SONG: No Mercy I really do enjoy the PVRIS's new album, I thought it was a great progression forward for the band. You can really hear the maturity of the band in the difference between White Noise and All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell. It was something that really had a nice narrative throughout and I really the themes of heaven and hell. I think lyrically it flowed really well and it's definitely a winter time jam. 6. Rituals by In This MomentRATING: 4 of out 5 FAVORITE SONG: Witching Hour This album is dark mysterious and an interesting listen all the way though you will never get bored when you're listen to this album. The album is full of dark hooks catchy choruses and really showcases all they have on the table. I keep coming back to songs from this album and it keeps engaged through the entire album. 5. Safe Is Just a Shadow (Re-shadowed) by Ice Nine KillsRATING: 4.5 out of 5 FAVORITE SONG: Evidence On Fire This album was recorded off of the band's original release Safe Is Just Shadow since that release the band has gone through a lineup change. These fan favorite songs still feel as if they are new and is something that is engaging and amazing to experience throughout the album. It is definitely something I didn't expect I would come back to as much and shows that Ice Nine Kills are capable of creating something that feels even though it is a reissue. 4. The Sick Dumb and Happy by The Charm The FuryRATING: 4.5 out of 5 FAVORITE SONG: Blood and Salt I never got a chance to review this album on blog, for starters I just listened to this album a few weeks ago and I have completely enjoyed the album. It's a great female fronted metal album it really just flows nicely together. It is something that I have come back to quite a bit and it's something has shown a lot of maturity between the band's debut album A Shade of My Former Self. 3. All Smile by Sworn InRATING: 4.5 out of 5 FAVORITE SONG: Cry Baby Sworn In do metalcore in a completely different way and I really enjoyed their first album it's something that I really enjoyed the chaos of. I keep coming back to this album often for it's melancholy drones and angst because though my teen years are over. I still really enjoyed the emotion in the album it's something that you can listen to when your pissed, depressed, and sad. 2. Shadows Inside by Miss May IRATING: 5 out of 5 FAVORITE SONG: Never Let Me Stay Miss May I really out did themselves with this album, I really enjoyed the album through and through it had power metal elements and is something that I really enjoy. It's a fun listen and some of my favorite work from Miss May I. I'm pleased with this album because it's their first album out with SharpTone records and I think the label did great work with Miss May I. 1. Graveyard Shift by Motionless In WhiteRATING: 5 out of 5
FAVORITE SONG: Hourglass I'm sure no one is surprised by this selection and it's a great Motionless album. I really love the mix of early '00s metalcore and '90s nu metal. I love the feature on "Necessary Evil" and I think that this album was a long time in the making for all my fellow Creatures out there. I completely fell head over heels in love with this album and I'm really album. This one of Motionless's biggest release on a huge label so I'm incredibly proud of the work they have created. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Super sorry for the lack of content this past few months I'm coming to the end of my semester of university and juggling everything with school has been hectic. I hope you guys enjoyed the list please let me know what your favorite albums were in 2017 down in the comments. Here are some of my honorable mentions The Stories We Tell Ourselves by Nothing More, Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars Mis-An-Thrope by DED, Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars Vessels by Starset, Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars Opus Mar by Sumo Cyco, Rating 4 out of 5 stars Until then, See you in the pit! Mari 🤘 The long awaited sophomore from gloom pop trio, PVRIS, White Noise came out in 2014 and now we have All We Know of Heaven All We Need of Hell. Vocalist, Lynn Gunn, said that the title of the album was inspired by a poem by Emily Dickinson. You definitely can hear a progression and a maturity from PVRIS' first album, you can definitely tell that their is a maturity in Gunn's vocal. While this album this album has elements of their first album it doesn't feel like exact copy and paste. PVRIS keep their unique sound feeling fresh and are still keeping fans engaged and coming back and wanting more. The album also has new elements two it you definitely can hear some R&B elements in the album along with still ambient and soft rock elements that they have always had. You definitely can hear R&B elements in the track "Walk Alone" but it definitely works with PVRIS' sound. I definitely think that PVRIS fans will definitely devour this album and a causal listener will be engaged and entertained throughout the album.
Standout tracks: Same Soul The track starts out very raw, no heavy synths it just was very calm and definitely has an alternative rock feel. You definitely can hear the emotions in Gunn's voice when you listen to the the album. I loved the emotion in the song and I definitely will be coming back to this track and the instrumentation of the song as well. It's a sad track but also very upbeat where you can bop your head to and vibe with in the car or hanging out with friends. No Mercy This song has the "classic" PVRIS sound and very reminiscent of songs like "My House" off of White Noise. This song is probably my favorite song off of All We Know of Heaven All We Need of Hell this song is definitely much a rock song. It's an angry song which you can feel in the song when you listen to the song you can hear it the vocals and feel it the instrumentation. I really feel like this song would also be great in a live setting where you can the crowd moving and engaged. Half Half has always been one of my favorite singles to come out from this album. It's a guitar driven track that that keeps the listener engaged. I loved the instrumentation in the song it has a nice indie rock vibe that keeps me coming back to this for multiple listens. It's a nice collected track that really is a track that I want just blast all the time. It would be the perfect song for driving around at night and spending the night in the city. Separate This song is a much slower song that is very haunting and mysterious, it's dark and I can't help but love Gunn's vocals on this track. "Separate" tells the story of a tragedy and you can really feel the heart break in the song and just really take it in. I really like this because it's a bit more stripped than the other songs on this album and I will definitely be coming back to this song on the album. It's a really nice song to right before the album ends you can tell that album is wrapping up. Overall, I would rate PVRIS' new album a 4 out of 5 stars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What did you think of PVRIS' new album? Leave a comment down below! Sorry I've been so absent with posting on here lately, I've started back up with my studies and I'm at a new school for my sophomore year. So, I've been trying to make new friends and find my way around a giant campus. I hope all of you can understand. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari In This Moment managed to carefully crafted another dark and mysterious album. This album has played with the concept of God and Devil hence songs "Half God Half Devil" and "Oh Lord." The album encapsulates In This Moment's dynamic sound but also adding new elements. It some songs create some sort of dread while others are more upbeat but it all comes together create a really unique listening experience that is tells a story. The album really shines in many ways but I think my favorite is Maria Brink's vocals in the tracks and how she really drives every track to the very core.
Here's my standout tracks Black Wedding (ft. Rob Halford) Musically, this song creates some type of dread that really carries throughout in the lyrics entirely. It's cryptic and mysterious and Halford of Judas Priest really makes the song complete. I really enjoyed the play on lyrics from Billy Idol's "White Wedding" where the lyrics say, "It's a nice night for a black wedding." It really is an energetic which really makes me want to come back for multiple listens. Witching Hour I really enjoy Brink's vocals in this song it really is full of emotion in this song. It really brings to life how dark and terrifying this song is, and I would have to say that this would have to be my favorite song off of the album. This song musically really creates a sense of darkness and intrigue and picks up in speed during the chorus of the song. It really keeps a listener engaged during the song. Half God Half Devil This song is a dark and fun song which will get really ties the album's them all back into it's self. It is a song that really best shows In This Moment and especially represents the album the best. It really is song that is just an enjoyable through and through. This is probably one of the biggest tracks on the record and one the most rememberable. Lay Down Your Gun This track is a really haunting emotional piano track. It is from the point of someone who is dealing with a tragedy and really ends album on a solemn note. It really reflects and makes people feel very emotional and really tugs on the heart strings for the listener. It's song that everyone can take something away from and can all mean something different to everyone. Overall, I really enjoyed the new In This Moment record and thought that the theme of the record really shined through. So I'd have to give Ritual 4 out of 5 stars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sorry I haven't been posting as much, I've been very caught with work and being home for the summer. I hope you'll understand! Have you listened to the new In This Moment record? If so, let me know what you're favorite song is! Please keep in my that this is solely my opinion and my opinion alone. If you have a different opinion please leave a respectful comment in the comment section. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Sworn In, a metalcore band from Grayslake, Illinois, just dropped their third studio album and their first release with Fearless Records. The album is a great release and is enjoyable from the first song to the last. It a features a wide range of what vocalist, Tyler Dennen, can do and is a great progression musically from previous releases The Lover/The Devil and the Death Card. The album is very dark and has a kind of gloom and doom vibe throughout the course of the record that ties everything together almost seamlessly. The transitions between each song flow so well that you find yourself having a hard skipping tracks because each song feels as if it's a piece to a much larger puzzle. All Smiles will probably put Sworn In on the map that gives them more recognition in the music industry. Do not sleep on this record you won't regret at all!
Here our MY standout tracks from the record Cry Baby This song is probably my favorite song off of the record, it's an emotional track off of the record, as well as the rest of these records. Instrumental this song is awesome is really starts out somber and that turns into a really aggressive each really emphasize how emotional the track. This song just stood out to me because of these reasons I found myself listening to this song repeatedly. This song just really captivating to listen which really makes an enjoyable because not only can you feel the emotion you can hear in the lyrics as well. Helluputmethru This song is one of the more "mellow" songs, but I really do love clean vocals featured in this trick they really flow quite nicely with the guitars in this true. The chorus of song really stood out to me I felt like it was a really nice melodic break in between the more aggressive verses of the track. I also loved the lyrics in the in this song I felt like they were brutally aggressive and a call out to someone. I feel like this song would be also really awesome in a live setting. Closer To Me This is another song where I really love the clean vocals in the track. This track is almost entirely features Dennen's vocals, which are truly unique and different from other vocalists in the scene. This song is another one of those captivating songs where you just want to listen to it fully and be immersed in the lyrics of the song. It's another really melodic song especially in the songs that features Dennen's clean vocals opposed to uncleans. This song really feels like a slightly depressing song that you can't help but want more of. Cross My Heart Normally in closing songs with full length albums the closing track usually the least memorable. That is not the case with All Smiles this has to be one of the best closing tracks to album. It ties up the album quite nicely incorporating everything that we've heard in the album. It's melodic it's heavy it really has a nice blend that shows everything that this album is lyrically and musically. This is a song I would definitely recommend to a first time listener of Sworn In. I'm not usually a fan of the closing track but this one simply blew me way. I'd rate this album 4.5 stars out a 5. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What did you think of All Smiles by Sworn In? Have you listened to Sworn In before (if not will you check them after reading this review)? Leave a comment below letting me know your thoughts. DISCLAIMER: This is review is solely based on my opinion and my opinion alone. If you have different thats on the record leave a comment letting me know your opinion. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari PICK UP ALL SMILES HERE: http://smarturl.it/allsmiles http://smarturl.it/allsmilesbundles Follow Sworn In http://sworninofficial.com http://facebook.com/swornin http://twitter.com/swornin http://instagram.com/swornin I was quite nervous going into Last Young Renegade singles like "Dirty Laundry" and "Nice2KnoU" made me feel like this album had potential. However, singles such as "Last Young Renegade" and "Life of the Party" weren't awful but did drift quite far away from the pop punk style we've grown to know and love. Which left me in a state of delusion and not knowing how I felt about how this album would be. Some songs had me feeling like this these songs were amazing and I really liked them and others I really did like them. All Time Low really departed from their classic pop punk sound in this album and this album is really experimental. It doesn't make this album a bad album by no means it just left me feeling very confused on what direction they are going in. This album wasn't my favorite by All Time Low, unfortunately, I just have very mixed opinions on the album. I feel as if this album is very serious compared their other albums where they were happy-go-lucky, which is hard for me to wrap my head around. This album was very different than all their other releases even 2015 release Future Hearts. But different doesn't mean bad...(as I have stated before)...I really don't people who read this review to think that I'm saying different is bad.
Here are my standout tracks from Last Young Renegade; Drugs & Candy This song is one that reminds me of the classic All Time Low pop punk sound. It's upbeat rock based and guitar driver, which most songs on the album don't feature. It was one that I really could see myself going back to for multiple listens. I really think that if you're fan of older All Time Low you're really going to like this song. I really hope that they play this song when I see them in concert, because I think this would be a great song to see live. Dirty Laundry "Dirty Laundry was the lead single for the new album and has one that I had always gravitated. It still features the more electronic side of the album and then the more pop punk/rock side of All Time Low fans love. I think that this is a good song but I don't think it was a super strong single on it's own. I really like how somber this song is compared to the more poppier songs on the album. Nice2KnoU This song is probably my favorite off the entire album due to the fact that is the most guitar based song off the album. It also the most classic All Time Low sounding song off the album. It's a fun song that would be perfect drive around on a nice summer day with the windows rolled down. I really think that this is the strongest song off the album will please both old All Time Low fans and new fans they will attract from the new album. Nightmares This song is one of the most slow song that I feel like could be a potential fan favorite. It's a slow and relaxing song that gives a nice break from the more electronic pop rock sounds while still containing those elements. It features a really nice performance from vocalist, Alex Gaskarth, and is one of the songs that I could see be one of the biggest. This is very nicely produced and really ties into the concept of the album. This was a nice album on its own, but I don't think it was a very strong pop punk album (though it does have very vague elements). I liked this album but I wasn't IN LOVE with the album so I'm going to have to give Last Young Renegade a 3.8 out 5 because it definitely did have potential. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What did you think of Last Young Renegades? This album was heavy and aggressive music and uncleans from lead vocalist, Levi Benton, including cleans from bassist, Ryan Neff. The album is hard hitting and includes several aspects from metal and makes a unique blend of hardcore and metal. Shadows Inside is such a well put together album that has a really nice cohesive flow. This album is a really strong and has nice hooks and really shows that Miss May I is a force that cannot be reckoned with them. It really has emotion in the lyrics and you can really see in the delivery of the vocals and music backing it. The instrumentation also reminds me of metal an example of this would Metallica, you can especially hear this in the guitars. This album overall has a larger than life sound that will really get people engaged and would be epic to see in a live setting. If I were to describe this album in one word it would be epic.
Here our my standout tracks from Shadows Inside; Never Let Me Stay This is probably the most haunting track on the album which features Neff as the lead in this track. His vocals are haunting as he tells the story of this tracks. The instrumentation of the track is also very melancholy and I think that the delivery and what people can this song has to offer can really impact the listener. I really like Benton's uncleans in this track as well because it adds an entire new emotion to this track. This is a very simple song but I think song needs to be simple to get the message across. This probably my favorite song off the album. Casualties In an interview with Loudwire Benton described how this song was a emotional and different than other Miss May I releases. Which really added to the reasons why I loved this song because it could be a song that is inspiring and could really help people power through the hardships in life. Musically, the song is one of the heaviest songs on the album and probably one of Miss May I's heaviest. Crawl "Crawl" is probably the closest to a ballad or slow song you can find on the album. That doesn't mean that song can't hold its own...which it can. This song really reminds me of the "Never Let Me Stay" off this album and at the end of the song it really picks up into a heavy song. I really love the chorus of the song because it really has such an impact over the song. Swallow Your Teeth The song is aggressive and a really fun listen, it really would be a fun song to see in a live setting. It would be a really good way to get a crow hyped at a concert. I think this song really is really well put together to where it would be a song I could see myself going back to again. This song has really nice dynamics between the band and vocals which makes really stand out because comes right after a slower song on the album. It brings people back into the second half of the record. As their first release off of SharpTone Records I think that's a really strong album and probably my favorite release Miss May I has done so far. So I would have to give this album a 5 out of 5. I was not a disappointed at all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What did you think of the new Miss May I album? Leave a comment down below letting me know what you think! Until then, See you in pit! 🤘 Mari PICK UP SHADOWS INSIDE https://www.districtlines.com/Miss-May-I spotify:album:4CDXWovozAabgZxrFtGt39 https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/shadows-inside/id1221024071 FOLLOW MISS MAY I https://www.facebook.com/missmayi/ https://twitter.com/missmayiband https://www.instagram.com/missmayiband/ https://www.missmayimusic.com/ We all remember Paramore as the pop punk band from the early 2000s. Since then Paramore has changed their sound from their pop punk days. The album has inspiration from a 1970s synth pop influence where it is funky vibes throughout the album. It is probably the perfect summer for most music listeners. It's up beat and will make one to get up and dance. Though, I would say if you were a fan of the more pop punk side of Paramore than this may not be the album for you since it completely different from any other releases they've done. This is even different from their 2013 release Paramore. Though I think this is showing a different side to Paramore from what we are used to see them doing. It's psychedelic and colorful and is a one of those albums that can incorporate happy upbeat music with dark and somewhat depressing lyrics. If you were simply listening to the instrumentals you'd probably not even recognize that it is Paramore. When vocalist, Hayley Williams, comes in you instantly know that this is Paramore.
Stand out tracks from After Laughter; Idle Worship This song has a funky and psychedelic vibes in the song. The song just talks about idle worship and how it feels about the role model. It's a message to let those who look up to her that she is still human. Which a message that people of this generation really need to hear because it feels as almost it is a requirement to have an idle worship of someone who is a celebrity. Which makes this song an important listen. Caught in the Middle This probably is my favorite song on the record it is the most guitar song off the album. Following with some relatable lyrics about growing up and struggling with the changes of life. I feel a lot of fans can relate to this especially if they have grown up listening to this band from the beginning since you typically have grown up this band. Hard Times The lead single of the album is catchy and contagious having you sing along to each and every word. Where it is groovy and will want to get you moving. This was the publics introduction to Paramore's new experimental sound. Which I think is the perfect lead single because it definitely had people talking about excited for the new release. 26 I really liked how watered down and calm this song is compared to the other tracks on the album. It's very solemn and it reminds me a lot of Paramore's previous release "Misguided Ghosts." This song is a nice relaxed song that gives a listeners a break from the upbeat and exciting. With an amazing vocal performance from Hayley Williams. There was a lot of hype surrounding the album, so I wanted to review this album for you fellow music listeners. For me, personally, this is not an album that I would want to come back to. BUT I feel like that if you are really into really synth driven up beat summery songs this album is definitely the album for you. So I would have to give this album 3.75 out of 5 stars. Which is not a bad rating by any means this is just how I feel about the album. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please keep in mind that this my opinion, and I wasn't in love with because I just did not like the sound of the album. Not because I want the old Paramore back. Anyways, let me know what you thought of the album down in the comments section below and I'll talk to you guys next time.
