Being a fan of the our scene is quite fun, we read Alternative Press Magazine, we go to Warped Tour every summer and hell we even have our own awards show! With perks like that what can possibly go wrong? Aside from the fact that I've come to see a disruption in our little happy music loving community that I feel that is time to address. This mainly has to do with the "fandoms" and how we treat one another.
People throw around the term "fake fan" and argue with each other online. We argue about bands and who's the biggest fan and who's a fake fan, which in reality we should be putting most of our energy into music other than each other. Instead of arguing with each other we should come together and enjoy the music that the band's we love release. It's something that we have in common that we should really hold on to because it's something that brings us together and is something that we can relate too. Though, I know have of you are probably are disagreeing with this point I have made. Just hear me out on this, when we shouldn't argue about our favorite band members' personal lives or who's the bigger fan because we don't know them personally. They only put online only what they want us to see and do not publish the entirety of their lives. I know when I am on my Twitter I don't post everything that is going on. So, I don't think we have the right to act like we have a better connection between one or another. I don't mean to sound rude but I don't want any fans of bands to feel excluded from the scene. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is just my opinion, but I'd really love to hear (read) what you guys have to say about the topic so leave a comment down below! (I'm nervous about this one) Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari

Earlier Kylie and Kendall Jenner created an uproar within the rock community after designing t-shirts "honoring" musicians such as Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., the Doors, Black Sabbath, and Metallica. Though the Jenner's changed the shirts with pictures of themselves and were created without artist knowledge or consent. You may have seen these shirts being spread across social media, noticed that Sharon Osbourne called them out, and the Doors
Since this incident the Jenner siblings removed the shirts from their online and apologized, “These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologize to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists,” the siblings said. That didn't stop Metallica frontman, James Hetfield, responded to the t-shirt situation. “To me, it's disrespectful, We've spent 36 years working hard, doing our best to keep a really close connection with people, make every note count, and someone just throws something up over something that we feel — Not that it's sacred or anything, but show some respect." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What do you guys think? The net profits of the track will be donated to NAMI (the National Alliance On Mental Illness).
Sylar vocalist, Jayden Panesso, explained how Linkin Park heavily impacted him as a musician. This made Bennington's very difficult for Panesso. Here is his full statement: "It's hard to even type these words right now - Rest In Peace, Chester Bennington. This is the first time where the passing from someone I didn't know personally has hit me so hard. Linkin Park was that band I always used as an escape from reality. Their lyrics and music have always resonated strongly in my life. When I found out about Chester's passing - I was immediately sick to my stomach. It's really crazy when you look up to someone for over 16 years and then this happens. All I can say is, I'm thankful for Chester, I'm thankful for all those words and melodies he shared with the world because I know for a fact, him and the rest of Linkin Park have touched millions and millions of hearts. Although I do feel like a massive part of my teenage years was taken away - his music and legacy will live on forever. Much respect and love to Chester's family, and the rest of Linkin Park. You're already SO missed." They can often be overshadowed by much more popular bands in our scene but I can see these bands becoming some of the more bigger bands in the scene. So here our some upcoming bands to look out for and bands you shouldn't sleep on in my opinion. Let's get straight into the list in no particular order. Bad Seed RisingFavorite album: Awake In Color Favorite song: Obvious I'm sure you recognize Bad Seed Rising because I have mentioned them quite a few times on the blog. They may be one of the younger band in the scene but don't let their age turn you away from their music. They're extremely and talented if you ever have the chance to see them live and sound just like their studio albums. They are definitely going to be one of the bigger bands in the scene today given that they've opened up for bands such Blessthefall and Memphis May fire. Doll SkinFavorite album: In Your Face (Again) Favorite song: Shut Up (You Know You Miss Me) There isn't that many female fronted bands in our scene today as many of us know. Which is why Doll Skin stands out the most to me, seeing young girls shred and rock hard really sets them about from others. Aside from the fact that they're an all girl band, they are insanely talented for their age which will blow people away. Definitely out Doll Skin out if you like metal infused with pop punk! You will not regret checking them out. SWMRSFavorite album: Drive North Favorite song: Palm Trees SWMRS is a pop punk/punk band that have a different image that most other bands in the scene which we don't see that often. SWMRS have a different stand that I can really see standing out to several people can probably be interested in. Which SWMRS are already gaining some momentum in the scene now that have opened up for bands such as All Time Low. Sworn InFavorite album: All Smiles Favorite song: Sunshine Sworn In is a metalcore/hardcore band that have dark and haunting lyrics. Even they do metalcore/hardcore style in a way that is different than the "generic" metalcore. You want will to keep listening to Sworn In's infectious tunes over and over on repeat. Sworn In really have a unique style that is very dark and edgy but it comes across smoothly and seamlessly. SylarFavorite album: Help!
Favorite song: Assume Sylar is a band that combine both rap and metalcore creating an almost nu metal sound but completely modern. They have a similar style to early works of Linkin Park and you can definitely hear the influence. A more modern example of a band they've been compared to is Issues because they both infuse to different genres together. Sylar do what they do very well and definitely should not be ignored what so ever. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What are some of your favorite up and coming bands of 2017 thus far? The biopic is starring Rami Malek most known for his film Mr. Robot. The will also be called Bohemian Rhapsody, the perfect title for the biopic. Bryan Singer will be directing the film, most known for his films X-Men and The Usual Suspects. Pre production will beginning next week in the U.K. and Roger Taylor and Bryan May of Queen will be producing the music for the film. Though there is no news of who will be playing Taylor, May, or John Deacon yet.
You can read the full announcement here: "Yes folks, it IS finally happening. You’ve been hearing rumours about Bohemian Rhapsody The Film for some time, but now QOL is about to become your most direct source of official information. This will be the place to come to stay ahead of all the very latest news and updates as the film gets underway – and hopefully we’ll have some regular insider information to share with you too. So starting right now, here's what we can confirm at this stage. Award winning director Bryan Singer is the man who will be bringing the Queen and Freddie story alive. If you’ve ever seen Singer’s X-Men films, or the groundbreaking movie The Usual Suspects, you’ll know this is a director with extraordinary imagination and style. A perfect choice to recreate the fabulous Queen years which brought us such unforgettable moments as Live Aid, which we can reveal will be faithfully recreated for a key sequence the film. More on that very soon. Rami Malek has signed up to take on the challenging rôle of Freddie Mercury. Who could imagine a more perfect fit than this brilliant actor ? At this stage you probably know him best for TV’s Mr Robot. Roger and Brian told QOL: “Rami has great presence and he’s utterly dedicated to the project. He’s completely living and breathing Freddie already, which is wonderful.” Roger and Brian of course are serving as the film’s executive music producers. After months of speculation, QOL can also confirm that the film is now ‘as-close-as-that’ to start of shooting. Pre-production begins next week in the UK to prepare for start of principal photography in around London as soon as mid-September. You are probably wondering, who will play Roger, Brian and John??? That, friends, is news for another day, and just one good reason for you to make QOL and Queen Facebook your regular stops to check in for the very latest updates, and who, knows, maybe even one or two exclusives. Wednesday Kid Rock launched the website called kidrockforsenate.com, promoting himself to be a senator for his home state of Michigan. Skeptics questioned if this was a joke or some type of publicity stunt but doesn't seem like the case. Kid Rock has already began making t-shirts, hats, and bumper stickers that read: "KID ROCK FOR US SENATE." Also, the site asks, "Are you scared?" I think the answer is self explanatory. Kid Rock's slogans include "I'll Rock the Party," "In Rock We Trust," "Born Free," "Party to the People," "Welcome to the Party," "You Never Met a Politician Quite Like Me," and lastly "Get in the Senate and Try to Help Someone." While reporters say that Rock has not properly filed paperwork in association with the FEC. Rock still says that his campaign for the US Senate "ain't not joke." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Let me know your thoughts on Kid Rock running for US Senate down in the comments below! Is it a joke?
