Here is Alex Gaskarth's statement regarding the new album;
Who is the Last Young Renegade? After all this time writing music, playing in a band- checking moment after moment off the bucket list- collecting mistakes, making memories, I wondered what it might be like to write about myself if I wasn't the one standing in my shoes. Who am I from the other side of the mirror? I tried to change perspective in my approach to writing and center in on all of the different versions of me that other people might have met over the years, through the ups and the downs, in the public eye and behind closed doors. Would I like this person? Do I like this person? Do I even recognize this person anymore? I realized that there's a lot more to me than I'm usually ready to acknowledge, both good and bad. In that realization, I noticed a common thread. We are who we are, even when we try our hardest not to be. It's a challenge to accept it sometimes. I gave those other sides of me a persona, and a name-- then came the stories like a flood. It was a way for me to confront demons without having to sit at the dinner table with them. That's the journey on this record: a story of self-realization. Of growing into your own skin through the eyes of someone watching it all unfold on the big screen, wearing a 'Frankie Says Relax' t-shirt. Like watching an old familiar movie, but suddenly you're Marty McFly. We tried a lot of new things on this album, all within the context of what we love so much about All Time Low-- There's no denying that we were binge watching Stranger Things at the time, while also reflecting on the loss of some of our favorite musicians; Prince, Bowie, George Michael... I think the influence comes through in the best ways. We all felt pulled to exciting and different places as we searched for inspiration, approaching something that's become so familiar to us from a new direction. I truly hope everyone listening enjoys this record as much as I do. It's been an amazing journey. The album comes out June 2nd and will be available for pre-order on Friday, Feb 24th. We'll also be posting some pre-order merch bundles, so stay tuned. Pre-order options will be up on alltimelow.com. xo Alex ~~~~~~~~~~~ Will you be picking up All Time Low's new album? I will! Everyone's favorite gloom pop trio, PVRIS, has finished recording sophomore album! As we all know their first album White Noise was released three years ago, so we have quite some time for this album. A fan had commented about the new album to the bands Facebook page. The fan simply stated something along the lines of you have been touring for three years straight and why not work writing and recording the new album. PVRIS responded with "The album is recorded." Which means the album could be out anytime now. Keep your eyes and ears on the look out.

Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Some may be shocked when they hear about Canadian rock band, Kittie. Bassist, Trish Doan, had passed away today at the age of 31. The band have a released a statement regarding the situation but they also have asked for privacy when dealing with their loss.
It is with immeasurable sadness that we share news of the passing of our sister and best friend Trish Doan. Finding the right words is tough. She was so bright and vibrant and talented and we loved her and still do. She was so much more than just a musician or member of the band. She was our blood, our sister and family. Finding our way without her will be challenging, like a ship without a lighthouse, and we are devastated. We ask that you please respect our privacy and her family's privacy during this difficult time. ~~~~ What are your thoughts on the situation? This is something that is very sensitive and I am very sorry for the bands Kittie's loss I can't even imagine. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Sources http://www.altpress.com/news/entry/kittie_bassist_trish_doan_dead_at_31 Something that is often overlooked in music is concept albums, so I compiled a list of my favorite concept albums. Concept albums can have songs come together create these stories that can make you think through lyricism. Every Trick in the Book by Ice Nine KillsEvery Trick in the Book's story is classic pieces of literature where they interpret these stories into songs. This metalcore band did an insane job of it too, most people probably have never read classic pieces of literature. Some of these songs are "Star Crossed Enemies" based on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, "Bloodbath and Beyond" based on Bram Stoker's Dracula, "Me, Myself, and Hyde" based on Robert Louis Stevenson's the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. If you are interested in hearing this album definitely go check it out. The Resistance: Rise of the Runaways by Crown The EmpireThe Resistance: Rise of the Runaways the story takes place in post apocalyptic world where a repressive government reigns supreme. This government tries to eliminate the individuality of the society. But this cannot happen, which is where the resistance...aka the Runaways come in as they try to take down this repressive government. While this story has already been explored with other bands such as My Chemical Romance's Danger Days: The True Live of the Fabulous Killjoys and Black Veil Brides' Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones it still is interesting to here another take on this topic. I think Crown The Empire did an amazing creating their own story. American Idiot by Green DayI'm sure we all know the story behind American Idiot it is a phenomenal story that even has seen the likes of broadway. A boy named, Johnny, unsatisfied with suburban life travels the city where he is emerged in punk control. He encounters Saint Jimmy and falls in love with Whatshername, this just tells of Johnny story as he travels from the suburbs to the city. It's iconic record that I'm sure everyone has listened to. Power Under Control by IslanderIslander's record tells the story of a man who is very dark and has bad morals. It explores this man's thoughts emotions and tells his story as he travels to the light. The album tells a unique story where the lyricism depicts the story of Power Under Control it is something that I haven't seen done before. The songs are uniquely executed with songs as "Beelzebub", "Darkness," and "Better Day." Mechanical Animals by Marilyn MansonMechanical Animals is my favorite album by Marilyn Manson by far. Though you may or may not Mechanical Animals is a concept album. The story follows alien, Omēga falls from outer space and is the glam rocker where he is captured from earth. Omēga is thrusted in the spotlight when is placed with rock band The Mechanical Animals, and deals with Hollywood and the rock star lifestyle.
~~~~~~~ To me concept records are something overlooked, but they can be quite fascinating stories. Comment below with your favorite concept albums! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Earlier today alt-pop duo, twenty one pilots, posted a BRAND NEW music video for song "heavydirtysoul" off the 2015 release Blurryface. Have you checked out the music video? If so, what are your thoughts on the video? Comment below! This is personally one of my favorite songs off of Blurryface so I am quite pleased to see that this song got a video, and I really enjoyed on the imagery that was used to really bring the song to life.
