Since, we talked about the amazing female vocalists. I thought why not talk about my favorite male vocalists as well. So here it is my top 5 favorite male vocalists, I hope you enjoy! 1. Oliver "Oli" SykesOliver Sykes the brutal frontman behind Bring Me The Horizon. We all knew Sykes could give out some intense unclean vocals due to the band's past as a deathcore band with releases as Suicide Season and much more. Little did any of us know that Sykes was also incredible at clean vocals, we learned after Sempiternal was released. It was a risky release for the band and they did loose some fans after the release, but they did gain some dedicated fans after they were able to hear Sykes' incredible clean vocals. 2. Tyler JosephEveryone knows Tyler Joseph from the alt pop duo, twenty one pilots, this multi-instrument player also has a voice full of passion. Joseph can convey the emotion of a song where the listener can relate no matter the situation. That is especially noticeable from their song "Goner" and "Trees." Though the style he writes in might be dark and depressing lyrically, musically they have a hopeful undertone almost as if he was saying; "You'll be okay." 3. Chris MotionlessIf you knew me in real life you wouldn't be surprised that Chris Motionless is on this list, Motionless is the intense vocalist of the metalcore band, Motionless In White. If you have ever gone to a MIW show or listened to one of the records you can practically tell that Motionless is giving each song his all. He is passionate about music and you can hear this in the music and see it in the live show. It truly reflects in everything he does and he doing music because of the music. Which is also why Motionless In White is my number one favorite band. 4. Telle SmithTelle Smith, frontman for the band The Word Alive. I believe the only true way to hear the power behind his voice is to see him live. When you ever get a chance to see Smith and his band you get to see a high energy show where he gives it all. Along with that, Smith is able to sing with conveying the message of his songs in a way where you can understand really feel and relate to what the song is about. Even though Smith may not be the original singer of the The Word Alive, he has managed to take the band to great heights. 5. Spencer CharnasSpencer Charnas, is the man behind the four piece metalcore band, Ice Nine Kills, from Boston Massachusetts. Charnas's melodic vocals really make Ice Nine Kills stand out and make them an essential listen. This is especially noticeable on the recent 2015 release Every Trick in the Book where each song was a theatrical masterpiece, really conveying the story each song has to tell.
~~~~~~~ I hope you enjoyed today's post, sorry it's nothing groundbreaking but it's something. Who's your favorite male vocalists? Comment with down below! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘
Motionless In White finally have announced the release date for the highly anticipated fourth album, Graveyard Shift, it is due May 5th, 2017 with Roadrunner Records. Keep your eyes and ears out for preorders in the next coming months. Until check out the singles from the album "570" and "Eternally Yours"! I'm so excited to hear the album in full!
Until then, See you in the pit! Mari In today's generation mainly guys rule the rock n' roll airwaves, but there also so truly phenomenal female vocalists. Sometimes these female vocalists are over shadowed by their male counterparts. 1. Lzzy HaleLzzy Hale is the powerhouse vocalist behind the force of Halestorm. Hale has been making music for the past twenty years! Her band, Halestorm, formed in 1997 with the help of her brother, Arejay Hale. Since then Halestorm has become a household name and regarded for Hale's powerful vocalist. She was also nominated for best vocalist for the APMAs in 2016. She can give a hard rock thrasher song and a soft delicate ballad. 2. Lynn GunnLynn Gunn and her band PVRIS have seen fast success, after only forming in 2012. Gunn is able to captivate a crowd with just a few simple notes as her haunting vocals convey the lyrics of the song. Her vocals are perfect for some hard rock and gloom pop infused melodies. Gunn can definitely hold her own when it comes to her music. When PVRIS played Warped Tour 2014 Kevin Lyman moved them from the Journeys Stage to Main Stage because of the crowds they brought in. Lynn Gunn was also nominated for best vocalist in the 2015 APMAS. 3. Ashley CostelloAshley Costello has come along way with her vocals since the band, New Years Day, had formed. Originally the band was a pop punk band but after some lineup changes Costello gained creative control and took the band into the heavy band they are today. She took on a lot with the previous New Years Day release, Malevolence, she was able to improve not only her clean vocals but her unclean vocals as well. To this day she is trying to become the best vocalist she can possibly be. 4. Ariel BloomerAriel Bloomer and her band Icon For Hire had gone through a lot in their musical career. Their old record label Tooth & Nail had been censoring them and not giving creative control over their own project, because of this the band dropped their label and became an independent band. Since then Bloomer has been able to stop the upward trajectory of her band's success. They were able to put out a full length album through crowd funding and go on a headlining tour around the midwest. Their new record, You Can't Kill Us, is a message saying you can make it without a label. 5. Taylor MomsenSome may know Taylor Momsen from her acting career where she was most known for her roles in Gossip Girl and The Grinch. Others know Momsen from her rock band The Pretty Reckless, Momsen isn't much of an actress anymore but more-so the singer for an incredible band. Momsen's growling rough vocals--which are by no means a band thing--fit so well with the type of genre she is in. The Pretty Reckless's over all embodies the rock n' roll lifestyle. Who better could fit that imagine than Taylor Momsen. She is has most recognition for her song "Heaven Knows" which gets the most radio play.
All I can say is I wish Balz best of luck in his future career and he is still continuing on with his musical career. Here is Balz's statement; As for Motionless In White they will being goin on The End Is Near Tour with a fill in keyboardist and their new album will be coming out on time with Roadrunner Records. Here is Motionless In White statement;
"MIW fans, As of today, we regret to announce that after 10 years of time spent with the band, through the highest of highs and lowest of lows, Josh Balz will be departing from Motionless In White. After many discussions and time spent searching within himself over the past year, Josh has come upon many discoveries of who he now is as a person, and what is truly important to him regarding his future. We respect and whole heartedly understand his decision, and while we are sad to see him go, wish him nothing but great things in the future with his family and pursuing his new dreams and business endeavors. For more information from Josh directly, please visit his twitter @Joshbalz. Regarding our touring schedule, we will be performing on the rapidly approaching “The End Is Here Tour” exactly as planned, now with a keyboardist to fill in. We will also be playing every show around the globe that we have announced thus far and continuing to tour strongly onward after what has previously been announced. Regarding our new upcoming record, “Graveyard Shift”, everything is also still exactly as planned, and will be releasing this year on Roadrunner Records. Thank you, Josh, for your years of dedication in helping MIW become something we only dreamt of being when the band started. It has truly been a pleasure to have shared the road with you and to have so many amazing stories and memories to look back on through it all. You will be missed. - MIW" ~~~~~~~~ What are your thoughts on the subject? Motionless In White are my favorite band and have been for some time. Comment below with your thoughts so we can have discussion. A couple of depressing stories this passed week which I want my next few blog posts to be positive. So comment below about what you want to see. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari SOURCES http://www.altpress.com/news/entry/motionless_in_whites_josh_balz_leaves_band Here is some exposition, during their November 2016 the band announced that Escamilla would be hiatus during the tour. Then again Escamilla tweeted "You'll undstand. Soon." on December 21st, and on January 4th he posted a photo in the studio.
Later Escamilla left this saying what possibly going on behind the creative process behind Crown The Empire. You can read his statement below; "So with much consideration in how I wanted to prepare a statement, I feel the best way is to be as transparent as I can about the entire situation and what led to the decision the band and I came to. I'm tired of conveying my life like it's a commercial business. Because it's not. I'm a human being like any one of you and I'm not afraid to be honest about that despite how it may look on my "image" or any other artificial view of me that may exist. So with that being said. I want you to understand what led the decisions made and the place we're in now. Right before I started the recording process for Retrograde, we had been touring for months with little down time. Which I knew came with the job. No problem. What I didn't understand was the lifestyle I was very susceptible to by being on the road and almost trying to live this "rockstar" lifestyle. I'm guilty. I fell into it. The drugs, the alcohol, the partying, all of it. What most people don't understand is that, abuse of any of those things can mess with your head. And sometimes in very significant ways depending on the substance. This abuse was a significant role in my transition into a downward spiral. I was extremely unhappy, depressed, and experienced many terrible things that people shouldn't have to go though all by my own doing. My band, my loved ones, and my fans all stood by me through this even though I was very undeserving. I realized this by the time we did the Rise Records tour in Japan especially after a specific incident on that tour because shortly after, I became aware that Hawaii would be my last show with CTE. As disappointed as I was, I came to terms with it understanding that it was mainly my fault... What was even more disappointing and heartbreaking was that I never got closure with my brothers. The guys that welcomed me into their band 4 years ago with open arms. The guys I thought I would know until I was on my death bed. The guys that I thought would meet my family one day and back up the amazing stories we have. I lost that. And yes, It was partly my doing but at the same time I needed help that wasn't there when I needed it most. Instead, I came home from Hawaii with no contact from anyone in our team besides our manager. And he was letting me know I had a legal agreement to not participate in any activities involving Crown The Empire as well as to not say anything about the situation. Which I felt I deserved... After this was a much needed time of self rehabilitation. I stopped every substance I abused and focused on my health and well being. As this period of time went on, I realized my lack of fulfillment with my role in CTE... The members of the band are talented individuals, but we had extremely little creative input. There were days from the studio during the Retrograde process that we weren't welcome into the studio to contribute to writing. When this happened, I felt like something was wrong. I understand when people have no experience writing songs, but I believe whole heartedly in the journey to understand your creative contribution. I wanted to sit in there and suck until I figured out how to get better. And I believe that's how you get good at anything. It takes dedication and love to a craft. When you pay people to do that with your music, you have to "act" like you believe in it. It defeats the purpose of being a musician to begin with to me. So when we toured on Retrograde, I felt like I was being robbed of the opportunity to put love into my craft. I was being paid to do a job. And that's not why I picked up a guitar and microphone when I was 12 years old. So without any contact with the band, I notified our manager that I wanted to part ways with CTE. Since then, I have yet to hear from any of them but I truly wish them the best because I know deep down, they deserve it. I won't let my circumstances interfere with the potential I see for the band. As for me, for now, I'm not making any big statement to build hype on anything. I'm simply going to create music and share it with you as I go until I discover myself as an artist better. When I'm confident, and I feel you guys agree. I will move forward and hopefully have many more experiences with you guys on the road in the future. To the people who are willing to stick by me and accept my failures as well as see me move forward, I can't thank you enough. You're the one thing that made me want to continue doing this when I was at my lowest point. When I would consider giving up, I had another fan come along and change my mind. You guys can't even begin to understand what that means to me. You kept my love for this thriving. And I couldn't be more grateful. With love, Dave." Here is Crown The Empire's statement regarding the situation; "Bands are a lot like a relationship; you've all heard this. Sometimes when shit goes south, it's hard to tell who broke up with whom, if you're ever going to get back together, when to give them back their things - it's messy, and it takes a while to figure out how to get back to focusing on just yourself, when all you've known for a good part of your life is sharing it with this other person.Dave isn't in Crown The Empire anymore. That's how the chips have landed after the smoke has cleared. Everyone will try and make it out like it's a big corporate thing, and say we're "very excited about the future of what both he and ourselves make as we all continue to pursue music" but we all know that when you see your girl or guy with someone else it sucks. The difference is that we turned to each other during this time. The four of us found solace, respect, friendship renewed, and our purpose within this band, and stopped letting our selfishness divide us. Instead we've come together, bonded more than ever to help build each other up. We've never heard or seen Dave make anything, artistically or musically in the 4 years he was in our band, so we're just as excited to see what he does make as you are. We've had enough time to lick our wounds and can truly say we wish him the best, but we don't want any of our fans to think he was at the heart of what made Crown - Crown. I don't think you'll yosee him say anything different. Yes, - the "members" as you know it of Crown The Empire were not the primary song writers, but to us, our best friend Brendan, has basically always been in our band, and wrote with us from the very first song. An architect can't say he's made a house without someone to actually build it. It's not like some random person that we pay and say "hey make us famüs" he's literally a brother of the band, and that has not changed. We will continue on as we have, together, tighter, more creative, and more excited, amicable and finally free of negativity than we've ever been. Dave is an incredible talent that we'll never be able to replace in our sound, but we're excited to build an identity around Andy as the singer of this band once more, and we can't wait to bring our creations to you. Because at the end of the day, anything we create is ultimately not for us. It's for a point in time in the world and the people in it. Thank you all for being participants in our fucked up little universe so far, and we hope that you all will stick around to see how it evolves. With Love, Andy, Brandon, Taddie, Tree" ~~~~~~~~ It always is hard seeing lineup changes like these happen to bands. What are your thoughts regarding the situation? Comment down below to leave your opinion so we can some type of discussion. That's why comments are always open! Also, this is unrelated, but I want to give a big shout out to everyone who helped my blog reach 160 pageviews. Before I get all sentimental, I just say thank you so much for the support you have given Feel the Pulse. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari SOURCES http://www.altpress.com/news/entry/crown_the_empire_part_ways_with_vocalist Happy New Year! This is an exciting year for music so many bands that I love are releasing music, 2016 was a year where music was not very ear catching. I have faith in the new year for music, it's going to have very exciting releases from monumental bands. PVRIS Though there is no gaurenteed release date this gloom pop trio has given information about the new release. Lynn Gunn says since the band's last release White Noise which recorded three years ago PVRIS have grown as musicians and have a lot more of ideas. Gunn also sites that the next release will have a mix of heavy rock driven songs, R&B inspired and laidback songs. Ice Nine Kills Ice Nine Kills' album is due out in Winter 2017. Spencer Charnas says he wants to make sure that each of the lines off of this upcoming release tattooable in which Charnas strives to become a better lyricist in the songs he writes. The band wants to stay away from the clichés that are associated with the genre. They strive for a sound that says Ice Nine Kills and not just another heavy band. Miss May I This album is due out in Spring 2017, vocalist Levi Benton describes this album about changes. He goes on to say that this album is going to be the most digestible Miss May I record. Benton always says that band took the time to find the perfect riffs and sing-a-long choruses. If it didn't get stuck in their heads it would be deleted and they would restart. This is the "give metal a chance" album for those who regularly listen to the genre. New Years Day This is one of my most anticipated albums of the year expected to be released in Summer 2017. Ash Costello and Jeremy Valentyne explained this metaphorically as is Malevolence being the evil queen this new release would be the evil queen turning into a dragon. Costello wanted to better herself vocally and push herself. She is going to scream more, have bigger melodies, bigger choruses and push herself lyrically in her songs. Motionless In White This album is a long time in the making for diehard Motionless fans, myself included, from 2014's release Reincarnate. This album is due to come out in Winter 2017 and is their first release from new record label Roadrunner Records. Chris Motionless says that this album will have more of a cohesive flow to it compared to passed releases. With more heavy nonstop tracks and less of industrial and more mild tracks from the album. What are your albums you are excited to see from 2017?
