Happy New Year! This is an exciting year for music so many bands that I love are releasing music, 2016 was a year where music was not very ear catching. I have faith in the new year for music, it's going to have very exciting releases from monumental bands. PVRIS Though there is no gaurenteed release date this gloom pop trio has given information about the new release. Lynn Gunn says since the band's last release White Noise which recorded three years ago PVRIS have grown as musicians and have a lot more of ideas. Gunn also sites that the next release will have a mix of heavy rock driven songs, R&B inspired and laidback songs. Ice Nine Kills Ice Nine Kills' album is due out in Winter 2017. Spencer Charnas says he wants to make sure that each of the lines off of this upcoming release tattooable in which Charnas strives to become a better lyricist in the songs he writes. The band wants to stay away from the clichés that are associated with the genre. They strive for a sound that says Ice Nine Kills and not just another heavy band. Miss May I This album is due out in Spring 2017, vocalist Levi Benton describes this album about changes. He goes on to say that this album is going to be the most digestible Miss May I record. Benton always says that band took the time to find the perfect riffs and sing-a-long choruses. If it didn't get stuck in their heads it would be deleted and they would restart. This is the "give metal a chance" album for those who regularly listen to the genre. New Years Day This is one of my most anticipated albums of the year expected to be released in Summer 2017. Ash Costello and Jeremy Valentyne explained this metaphorically as is Malevolence being the evil queen this new release would be the evil queen turning into a dragon. Costello wanted to better herself vocally and push herself. She is going to scream more, have bigger melodies, bigger choruses and push herself lyrically in her songs. Motionless In White This album is a long time in the making for diehard Motionless fans, myself included, from 2014's release Reincarnate. This album is due to come out in Winter 2017 and is their first release from new record label Roadrunner Records. Chris Motionless says that this album will have more of a cohesive flow to it compared to passed releases. With more heavy nonstop tracks and less of industrial and more mild tracks from the album. What are your albums you are excited to see from 2017? Happy New Year and until next time See you in the pit, Mari Lozano SOURCES http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/our_most_anticipated_metal_albums_of_2017/P4 http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/our_most_anticipated_alternative_albums_of_2017 http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/our_most_anticipated_heavy_releases_of_2017
