Something music fans highly enjoy is when musicians collaborate on projects with each other. Even better when they happen to be your favorite musicians working with each other. I compiled a list of my favorite duets/features that stand out to be very strong and creative. In no particular order here they are. Angel Eyes by New Years Day ft. Chris MotionlessWhen I first heard this song I was at Warped Tour '13 burning in the hot sun and just discovering New Years Day. As I stood in the crowd I heard vocalist, Ash Costello, mention Motionless In White frontman, Chris Motionless, this instantly got my attention. I loved the song it's own and I went home to hear the studio version, I was obsessed! This was my favorite song for several years and I still think fondly of the song and music video. Freak on a Leash by Korn ft. Amy LeeI recently found this feature and my instant thought was; where has this song been all my life. I love hearing "Freak on a Leash" in a more watered down version and how both Jonathan Davis of Korn and Amy Lee's of Evanescence's voices clash. It's an interesting dynamic that I really loved about it their voices are so different that it brings a new unique fresh view of the song. I definitely recommend checking this out if you're a fan of both Korn or Evanescence. Contemptress by Motionless In White ft. Maria BrinkLet me preface this by saying that Reincarnate is my favorite album of all time, and this happens to be one of my favorites off the album. This album is gritty mysterious and includes amazing vocal performances from both Motionless and In This Moment powerhouse, Maria Brink. I couldn't imagine anyone else sharing this feature and it really adds more to this story of the song. Unfortunately there is no music video for this song though I really wish there was. It would have been an amazing story to be seen played out. Abigail by Motionless In White ft. Spencer CharnasIf you've had the opportunity to see this live then you know how epic this is live. You really get to see how Motionless and Ice Nine Kills vocalist, Spencer Charnas, seamlessly interact with one another. They're uncleans really seem to complement each other especially during the breakdown of the song. It's something that I really enjoy that they do together but unfortunately there is studio version of this song. I'd really love to see a recorded version of "Abigail" including Charnas in the recording. *hint* *hint* make it happen. A Different World by Korn ft. Corey TaylorThis another gritty song that I really enjoy that really stands to because of the contrast of vocal styles. Davis' vocal voice is unique is something that I've never heard before which works well with Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist, Corey Taylor. It really adds a unique perspective to the story of the song and it really is complementary. My one critique of the song is that this doesn't have much of Taylor. If you were looking for a larger role for him than I wouldn't suggest this song.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please keep in mind the countdowns are completely opinion based and my opinion alone. Leave down in the comment with your favorite features in songs as I would love to know. Also let me know if you would like to see a countdown for songs I wish had music videos (even if you say no I'll probably do it on my own). Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari
