Lyrics really say a lot about the songs we listen to and the people we really are. Lyrics reflect on our lives and what we reflect and how we perceive ourselves and the world around us. The lyrics are some of my parts of a song it's something that I really think about when I'm listening to music. It's something that it's something connects me to the musicians I listen to. When I relate to these rock stars it really makes them more human. So in no particular here are some of my favorite lyrics from songs I listen to.
10. This is my beautiful show and everything is shot in slo-mo-tion (Slo-Mo-Tion by Marilyn Manson) This lyric stands out to me because in my personal opinion that something that is beautiful may be different to someone else. What is beautiful someone else could be someone else's hell, and I really needed this reminder in my life. It reminds that I can like what ever I want and it's okay if someone thinks it's something horrific. Manson delivered this line as in something that is matter-of-fact and he is just someone who doesn't care of others opinion. 9. I think I've thought myself to death (Come With Me Now by Kongos) This line really hits home with because I'm someone who constantly overthinks everything and I would really like to stop but I can't. There some moments where it really feels as if I do think myself to death since I'm constantly nagging at myself. It really is true to hear it in a song so I'm not the only that has been to hard on myself. But as the saying goes you are you're own worst critic. 8. Nobody thinks what I think (Kitchen Sink by twenty one pilots) This line is really simple, but I can really relate because I feel as if I think to much and I constantly think. It's a blessing and a curse because sometimes I wish I didn't think as much. This line and the entire song is something that I can feel a strong connection to after all "Kitchen Sink" is my all time favorite twenty one pilots song. I thinking of differently than everyone is a strength, though it doesn't always feel like one. 7. I'm not afraid to take the world on myself (Malevolence by New Years Day) I always really connected to sounds about growing stronger and being a badass. This line can someone "Malevolence" quite well because sometimes listening to a song where you are sure if you can make it in the world alone is nice. People try to tear you down but you just get back up stronger than ever ready to fight and make an impact on someone or something. Hearing this song will always make me feel empowered to do anything I want. 6. Hold on tight, this ride is a wild one (Missing You by All Time Low) Sometimes life is rough and you just have to ride it out. Going through ups and downs and definitely going through quite rollercoaster this past year I really related to. I think that this is a lyric a lot of people can relate to it's something that everyone can relate to. All Time Low are good at writing lyrics that can relate to. 5. Come as you are, as you were, as I want you to be (Come As You Are by Nirvana) I take this lyric is don't put up a front. To just be who you are and this is something that I think that more people today put up a front. Whereas this lyric calls for someone just to come and be yourself. I think that the idea of not putting up a front for the public transcends generations. It's relevant even for today for generations here now which I think that's Nirvana has managed to stay relevant all these years. 4. You found your place in the world tonight (Rock Show by Halestorm) In context of this song it's about a young girl finding their place in the world. And that is exactly how I feel when I listen to this song. A rock show is my place in the world, it makes me happy and content it's a nice escape from reality. This is super relatable if you ever been or love going to a concerts because it really embodies what concerts are to some people. 3. Maybe I like that I'm not alright (I'm Not Alright by Shinedown) As a person, I'm not alright I'm different than other people. Sometimes I feel like I'm not alright, and sometimes that can be not a bad thing. When hear this lyric I don't think the term "I'm not alright" isn't a negative things but when I listen to the song I don't think that it's a bad thing. It's something that tells you to embrace yourself and flaws. 2. Will I expire before my dreams unfold? But if the future's so bright the path should glow. (Hourglass by Motionless In White) I feel as if being in college nowadays it really feel some self-doubt settle in. You're about enter the adult world and experience something you've done before. You question everything whether you're going to be successful or if you're just going not to ever see success. It's something a lot of people feel in their life and you really start doubt if you can make it. College the arts this song and lyric can apply to both. 1. A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere (Soul Meets Body by Death Cab For Cutie) Death Cab For Cutie vocalist, Ben Gibbard, is very poetic and metaphorically when writing lyrics that really suits the music he and his band writes. Describing music as, "A melody softy soaring through my atmosphere," is quite poetic. It's unique it evokes emotion and that is why this is my favorite lyric and "Soul Meets Body" is my all-time favorite song. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What did you think of these lyrics?
