Female fronted bands tend be overlooked in the music scene by their male counterparts. I compiled a list of my favorite songs by female fronted bands. If you would like to contribute to list be sure to leave a comment and I go check out the band you write down in the comments. Let's get right into the list, in no particular order; 5. Off With Her Head by Icon For HireIcon For Hire are an extremely underrated band that has some really amazing music. I think that "Off With Her Head" both shows the bands rock side and their electronic side. On a side note I love the visuals of this song how displays something dark and twisted, which completely fits with the instrumentals and lyrics of the song. If you want to get into Icon For Hire I definitely recommend starting out with "Off With Her Head." 4. The Fighter by In This MomentIn This Moment's song "The Fighter" is one of my favorites by them. Vocalist, Maria Brink's, voice really shines it's a beautiful slow song. It starts with just Brink and the piano until the full band kicks and becomes a beautiful power ballad. I think that this song is an empowering to be a fighter. It's such a powerful song that I think everyone should give this song a listen even if you aren't into this type of music. 3. Infected by Eyes Set To KillEyes Set To Kill are an amazing band that are also underrated. Their song "Infected" is a song that is aggressive and is dark. If you are into dark and aggressive songs sung by a powerful lead singer vocalist, Alexia Rodriguez, then I highly suggest checking out Eyes Set To Kill. "Infected" was the first song I heard by Eyes Set To Kill and it's the song that got me into them. I really recommend this song to start out with. 2. Mirrors by PVRISPVRIS have really began to blow up lately and with good reason too. PVRIS have a dark electro pop sound and that will have listeners coming back for more. I've actually seen this band being referred to as gloom pop which I think accurately depicts there song. "Mirrors" is one of my favorite song by the band and probably one of my favorite off of White Noise. You really cannot go wrong with anything by PVRIS with their haunting tunes and Lynn Gunn's aerial vocals. 1. Malevolence by New Years DayNew Years Day song "Malevolence" is another one of those songs that encourages people to be a badass. I think this song has a lot of passion behind the lyrics. I think that this song really can impact someone to be strong. As someone who is shy and timid this is the song that I need to get me through the day. This is the type of song anyone can take something away from.

Today YouTuber, Jarrod Alonge, debuted his new project CrazyEightyEight a collaboration between Alonge and vocalist Lauren Babic. The song debuted their single "Tommy's Planet" and a cover of "Sound" from the 1975 (surprisingly these aren't parodies which shocked me too). The band have an EP coming out on June 2nd called No Words Spoken and currently have 4-song cover album out now. You can watch both of those videos here; If you are unfamiliar with Jarrod Alonge he is a famous YouTuber in our small Warped Tour music scene. He is most noted for his videos "How To Pronounce Band Names," "Every [blank] Vocalist," and his parody pop punk band Sunrise Skater Kids. I'll link his YouTube channel after this post.

What do you think of the new Eyes Set To Kill tracks? Have you had a chance to hear them yet! Did you already know about the songs since no one has really spoken about them yet? Leave a comment letting me know! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Social media is currently freaking out about this conspiracy. The conspiracy in summary is that Avril Lavigne died in 2003 and is replaced by a double called Melissa Vandella. The conspiracy originated from a Brazilian blog post a few years ago comparing some "differences" between Avril and "Melissa." The post re-emerged in a Twitter thread by user @Givenchyass who sighted differences between Lavigne's style, appearance, music, and even facial features.
But who is Melissa Vandella? Supposedly Melissa Vandella was a girl Lavigne as a double to throw off paparazzi so Lavigne have a somewhat normal life. According to this conspiracy Lavigne taught Vandella to sing and talk like her. So, after Lavigne had supposedly passed away Vandella became the new Lavigne. Which is why there are major changes in Lavigne's music style and some decisions Here is my thoughts; I cannot find any proof of Melissa Vandella's existence outside of this conspiracy. I can't find any of Vandella's social media accounts, no Twitter, no Facebook, no Instagram. If you were pretending to be someone else wouldn't you want your own sense of identity? There is no confirmation that Melissa Vandella is a real person she just exists with in this crazy conspiracy. If you think I'm wrong then you should send me pictures of Melissa Vandella that you can verify 100% real I would love to see them. Here's the other thing, Avril Lavigne was 18 when her debut album Let Go came out. People aren't the same people when they are 18 years old. Lavigne is now 32 she's grown up since she was a kid and she's allowed to change since then. Yes her music has changed a lot since her previous music which she is allowed to do as an artist. I think that Lavigne has grown she now a woman not a kid anymore. This conspiracy just seems a little crazy now and I don't believe it. Let me know your thoughts on the conspiracy. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari SOURCES http://avrilestamorta.blogspot.com.br/ (The blog is in Spanish but it is the original and I'm sure there are English translations online) Since her departure from the band Cherri Bomb everyone has had one question. When are we going to hear new music from Julia Pierce? Since her former bandmates started to release new music under the name Hey Violet. Well the wait is over! Pierce has finally revealed her new pop project, PYRCE, when she debuted her first single on Alternative Press. You can listen to the song here; Also, Pierce did an interview with Alternative Press talking about her post-Cherri Bomb experience and her future plans for her new solo project.

Are thoughts an emotions and take us back to when we were much younger. Remind us of our feelings whether the be happy or sad. Nostalgia is something that comes with listening to some old school tunes. In no particular order here is my list. 5. Brick By Boring Brick by ParamoreDuring middle school Paramore was my favorite band. I remember going to my local Target and purchasing Paramore's Brand New Eyes. I instantly fell in love with the song "Brick By Boring Brick" I loved singing a long to this song and wanting to sing this in my middle school talent show. Paramore will always be nostalgic for me they were one of the first bands I ever got into and they were my first rock concert. 4. Nobody's Home by Avril LavigneFrom elementary school until late middle school I loved Avril Lavigne. She was the first punk rocker girl I had got into though I'm not a fan of Lavigne anymore. I still remember singing to the pop rocker's songs with my best friend at the time in my bed room. Particularly, I loved singing along to her song "Nobody's Home" off of her sophomore Under My Skin which was also my favorite album by her. I had a funny story about seeing Lavigne in concert, I was in the fifth grade I heard she was sick and wouldn't be playing in my city. I heard that from a friend but I refused to believe it so I showed up at the venue only to find out that it was true. It was going to be my first concert but sadly did not come through. 3. Going Under by EvanescenceEvanescence are another one of those that I got into at a young age. I think I heard them on the radio or something and fell in love with Amy Lee's haunting voice. I got really into the band and remember purchasing their album Going Under and learning how to play "My Immortal" on piano. I really had a connection with this band and listened to them a lot during my elementary school years. I have vivid memories of watching "Going Under" and "Bring Me To Life." 2. I'm So Sick by FlyleafI got into Flyleaf around the same time I got into Paramore. I instantly loved vocalist, Lacey Sturm's, unique voice and she was the first girl I got into that could scream. "I'm So Sick" was one of my favorite songs by the band because I loved the energy behind the song. It was dark mysterious and I quickly found myself loving and loving more of Flyleaf's material as the years progressed. 1. The Beautiful People by Marilyn MansonI've been listening to Marilyn Manson for about 10 years now which strange considering I'm barely even 20. I read a book at that where the edgy main character listened to Marilyn Manson. Not having a clue who that was I asked my mom who was she showed me the song "the Beautiful People." I actually liked his music it was weird bizarre and something I couldn't even comprehend. Showing an interest in his music and given how young I was my parents would let me listen to was "the Beautiful People" and "Sweet Dreams." I played those songs constantly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These are some songs I loved growing up! I'd love to know some songs that made you feel nostalgic growing up as well slow be sure to leave me a comment down below! To give some smaller bands recognition I have compiled a list of five songs from, in my opinion, underrated bands. These bands may not be underrated to you but I feel as if these bands deserve more recognition and praise in the scene. Let's get right into the list, in no particular order; 5. I Can Feel You by Bad Seed RisingBad Seed Rising are an upcoming female fronted band. "I Can Feel You" is one of my favorite songs by this band and I definitely check it out. It's a hard rock song that has a good mixture slow parts and as well as hard rock parts. This song really showcases how powerful vocalist, Francheska Pastor's voice is. The song is a really powerful song and I really think you guys should check out this song. Also, Bad Seed Rising are currently on tour with Eyes Set To Kill and The Nearly Deads check them out in a city near you! 4. Assume by Sylar"Assume" is probably my favorite song by upcoming metalcore band, Sylar, the song is heavily influenced by nu metal. I do love the lyrics of the song, these lyrics are just are simply assuming something about someone based on looks. Which is probably something we all can relate to, but I think this song is the perfect I don't care anthem where you can rock out to this song with middle fingers up. Sylar are playing the entirety of this summer's Vans Warped Tour definitely check them out if you have the chance. 3. Furious Fixation by Doll SkinDoll Skin are definitely paving the way for young female rockers and they're doing it well. This band can rock hard and a just as talented there older male counterparts in the scene. I definitely can see Doll Skin going places in the next few years after their debut album drops this summer. I recommend starting out with "Furious Fixation" it has punk rock vibes and amazing instrumentation. I would definitely check out this band don't sleep on them. Be sure to pick up their new album Manic Pixie Dream Girl this June and see them on Warped Tour this summer. 2. Casket by IslanderIslander are a really unique band that have a lot going for them. They manage to blend a variation of sounds together and make it sound amazing. The band definitely are creating music that you won't really hear from very many bands in the scene. "Casket" is a more slower song by the band. I definitely recommend checking this band out. Go check out Islander on their summer tour with Korn this summer. 1. Let's Bury The Hatchet...In Your Head by Ice Nine KillsIce Nine Kills are one of most hardworking bands in the scene. They aren't a super well-known band yet, but they are definitely getting there. "Let's Bury the Hatchet...In Your Head" is by far my favorite by the metalcore band it's heavy melodic. This band put everything into their band whether it be there music videos, albums, and live performances. I really think that if you want to get into INK you should start out with this song.
