The Haxans, which is comprised of Ash Costello from New Years Day and Matt Montgomery "Piggy D" of Rob Zombie, released a haunting cover of "Vampira." Along with that the duo also announced that they will be releasing their debut album, Party Monster, October 13th. Be sure to check it out if you enjoyed their cover of the Misfits.
Here is Montgomery's statement about the album. "This record is a party for everyone else like us. The cover, the song titles, the energy and the colors of this record are going to pull together an amazing cross section of people. It's just everything we like and celebrate everyday, but amped up to 11! It's got 'a kids jumping on the bed while the parents are out of the room feeling' to it to me, which is kind of what this record was for us." ~~~~~~~~~~ Will you be picking up the Haxans new album? It really brings the lyrics to life for us to better understand what the artist is trying portray visually. I love music videos but I haven't really mentioned them on my blog before. So, with that being said here are my top 5 favorite music videos. 5. "The Nature of the Beast" by Ice Nine KillsThis music video came out a few weeks ago, and has quickly captivated me with the visuals of the story played out in the song. "The Nature of the Beast" is based on George Orwell's novel Animal Farm what was an allegory to the Bolshevik revolution that happened in Russia. I've read Animal Farm before so I was quite interested to see how this story would translate to in a music video. I was simply blown away with this music video with how cinematic it is and how it was able to tell the full story. Along with that most of the cast were made up of INK fans, which makes even more special knowing some fans can be apart of it. This is my favorite music video from the Every Trick in the Book trilogy. 4. "Something's Gotta Give" by All Time LowAll Time Low's music video for "Something's Gotta Give" is so bizarre yet hilarious at the same time. The story in this music video is probably one of the most creative ones I have watched to have me thoroughly entertained. The basic plot points in this are vocalist, Alex Gaskarth, wakes up in dressed as french fries. After some "friendly" interactions with his bandmates and chasing after a girl he's sees his reflection to see he's actually a zombie. It's a fun story that suits the song well and I definitely recommend watching this one. 3. "Heavydirtysoul" by twenty one pilotsNot only is "Heavydirtysoul" one of my favorite twenty one pilots songs, but I really love the music too. It's mysterious and metaphorical just like everything else twenty one pilots does which is one of the things that stands out about them. They are very careful and everything they do has a purpose nothing is accidental. For example how how Tyler Joseph is riding around in a car who being driven by Blurryface, which is constantly nearly hitting Josh Dun who is playing flaming drums in the middle of the road. At the end the car falls to pieces and the two are reunited for a fiery finally. 2. "Break the Cycle" by Motionless In WhiteDuring the Reincarnate era of metalcore band, Motionless In White's, career they determined with the storyline of their music videos to have the actors be themselves. "Break the Cycle" is one of the examples of that and came across the best to me, fans have noted that this has inspiration from the horror film Insidious. Where we see vocalist, Chris Motionless, battle his own reflection where he forced to face his own demons and open the door to the unknown. This by far is my favorite Motionless In White music video and one that keep coming back to the most. If you want to get into Motionless I highly recommend starting with this one. 1. "I'm About to Break You" by New Years DayNew Years Day never fell to disappoint me with their music videos they have such creative storylines through their videos you have to just keep watching. The "I'm About to Break You" video is inspired by Mad Max and includes a group of misfits being held as prisoners by a repressive society due to their individuality. Critics may claim that this storyline has become a cliche in our scene but they really should watch New Years Day's interpretation. It brings something new to the table with that being that it is really different to those that done it before. This song and video go together hand in hand and what makes it even better is fans were a also part of the cast in the video as well. This probably is my favorite New Years Day video but that's really hard to say since all of them are amazing.
~~~~~~~~~ I hope you enjoyed reading about my favorite music videos, and I'd love for you to comment down below with your favorite music videos as well. Keep in mind that this is solely my opinion, so keep that in mind while reading. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari |
