Concert Reviews
I went to a lot of concerts this past summer, luckily so I decided to let you guys know what bands you should go catch next year. Also, if you saw any of these bands live if you saw them as well feel free to share your opinion on the same bands down in the comments below! 5. Ice Nine KillsI saw Ice Nine Kills last spring in Portland, Oregon when they opened up for Chelsea Grin. I saw them in a small venue called the Analog and it was really cool just seeing them in that kind of scenery. It was a small venue and the stage short it was almost on the bring of being a floor show. I think that Ice Nine Kills really use themselves to tell the stories that their songs have in a live setting. 4. IslanderI saw Islander at Pain In The Grass 2017 and always but on an amazing show, you probably remember Islander from my list from last year. I just had to include Islander again because hey always but on such an amazing show I couldn't ignore and exclude them from the list this year. I highly recommend that you check out Islander in a live setting I think that you'll really enjoy they're live performance. 3. Motionless In WhiteI see Motionless In White at least once a year, and this past summer I had the opportunity to see them in Fargo, North Dakota. I saw them open up for In This Moment on the Half God Half Devil concert that was only the summer leg of that tour. It was an amazing show even though it wasn't Motionless In White's headlining show it was still an amazing experience and Motionless In White never disappoint me with their live shows. 2. In This MomentI also saw In This Moment with Motionless In White in Fargo. This was the first time I saw In This Moment live and was simply amazed me with their stage production and Maria Brink's voice was amazing live I highly suggest that if you are into heavy music at all definitely see In This Moment at least once in your life because you be captivated the entire time. 1 KornKorn was another band I got check off my bucket list this summer, I grew up listening to Korn and have always enjoyed their music since I was in middle school. Seeing Korn live as an adult really brought me back and felt nostalgic during their performance. Korn definitely disappoint me with their show and I think that if you ever were a fan of Korn at some point in your life definitely see Korn you will not regret it.

Last weekend I did something crazy, and by crazy I mean something so out of this world it be mind blowing. I was visiting North Dakota for a family reunion when In This Moment announced their Half God Half Devil Tour by some happy coincidence I would be in Fargo the same. I managed to get tickets and go see the show after all Motionless In White is my all time favorite band. At the Fargo date, however, Starset was not playing so the bands that played were Vimic, Motionless In White, and In This Moment along with the dancers Little Miss Nasty. I had meet and greet tickets to meet Motionless In White. VIP ExperienceI had the lucky experience of having an opportunity of getting VIP with Motionless In White at this show. If you are ever thinking of purchasing a VIP ticket for Motionless In White here's you what you can expect. Motionless In White are honestly some of the nicest guys you can ever meet. Also, people that you will meet at the show are super nice as well. Don't worry just be calm they'll totally nice guys and always get nicer each and every time you meet them. Little Miss NastyLittle Miss Nasty opened up the show, they were good dancers and did they're job well, though this show was an all ages show. It could have been inappropriate for people who brings kids to shows (maybe that's just the mother in me). Though they were entertaining and people really seemed to enjoy them. VimicThey were an insanely talented band that they could get the crowd rocking. Joey Jordison is such an awesome drummer live. They really put on high energy show that will definitely keep their exciting. They really have a nice metal sound and since I'm not familiar with the their music before the concert I really can't say how they compare live versus studio. What I can say if is if you haven't definitely give Joey Jordison's new project a listen if you haven't already. Motionless In WhiteMotionless In White is a band that always get better with time when you see them live. They're setlist was amazing they started their show off with "Loud (Fuck It)" and closed with "Reincarnate." My favorite song they played during their was their cover of "Chop Suey" it was really exciting them play it live also really enjoyed "Rats" and "Eternally Yours" as well. The only issue had with the set was that I wish their set was longer...but it really isn't a negative aspect of their set. Motionless In White get better and better every time I see them. In This MomentThis was my first time seeing In This Moment live, they had intricate sets and lots of moving parts. That's not what I'm writing about, In This Moment are incredible live Maria Brink's voice is stunning live. She sounds just like the studio albums or maybe even better. In This Moment are truly an incredible band that thrives off of the live show and that they are a band that you really want to see live. My favorite song they played live "Black Wedding" because Chris Motionless from Motionless In White came out and sang Rob Halford's part during the song. It was amazing to see it live and Brink and Motionless' voices sound quite nicely together. The only complaint I have of the show was the transition of when Brink was changing into her outfit took too long...but that only is a small complaint.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Did you attend any date of the Half God Half Devil Tour? If so let me know what you thought of the concert! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Tuesday night, I headed down to Seattle to go to the Last Young Renegade Tour which at my particular date the bands playing were The Wrecks, Waterparks, SWMRS, and of course All Time Low. The concert went extremely smooth I made in time for doors and managed to get barricade for the show which was honestly surprised me. It was overall a great and entertaining show and was truly a night to remember. The WrecksThe band the Wrecks opened up the show and I was pleasantly surprised with how fun and energetic this band was. The vocalist of the band was crowd surfing running through crowd and climbing on things, aside from the Wrecks are extremely talented. They have a fun alternative rock sound which they did a great job of hyping up the crowd for the other bands who were about go. This is definitely a band that deserves more attention so don't sleep on them. WaterparksWaterparks was the second band to go on after the the Wrecks. They are a pop punk band that tends to be on the poppier side. They were good but I wasn't into them as much as I was into the Wrecks or SWMRS. They weren't necessarily a bad live band they were just for me. Overall, they did play well live and had lot's of energy but they aren't a band I see myself listening to much in the future. SWMRSSWMRS was the band on before All Time Low. I really did enjoy them a lot and thought they did bring a a grittier punk rock vibe. I thought they had a really nice energy right before All Time Low. They had awesome crowd participation and people seemed to really enjoy there and so did I. They have a different kind of style that I think that people would like. (Disclaimer: SWMRS aren't playing every date, so I cannot speak on behalf of Night Riots) All Time LowTime for the headliners, All Time Low did such a great they sound just as good--no possibly even better than there studio releases. They managed to play a vast majority of my favorite songs by them everything from "Guts," to "Weightless" to "Cinderblock Garden." Since this is the Last Young Renegades Tour they also played songs from their most recent album Last Young Renegade. All Time Low opened with "Last Young Renegade" and ended of course with "Dear Maria, Count Me In." All Time Low have an insane live show and I would definitely recommend you all to check them out this tour or their next!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hope you enjoyed my review for today! If you went to any of these dates of the tour leave a comment down below with your thoughts! DISCLAIMER: This review is solely based on my opinion and my opinion. If you have a different opinion about the concert/bands/tour leave a comment respectfully in down below. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Last Saturday I attended my local radio station's Pain in the Grass concert, it's a radio festival held annually. It features some of the biggest name in rock music along with bands who are also up and coming in rock. This year the main headliner of festival was Korn. This is my second time attending the festival and I have a lot to say about this year. If you do live in the Seattle area I highly recommend checking out Pain in the Grass for some fun and seeing some of your favorite large acts. What to expectDefinitely be prepared for a day full of rock n' roll, as I stated before in this review how some very prominent bands from rock play. This year the lineup included bands such as Korn, The Pretty Reckless, Babymetal, Stone Sour. It also tends to get really hot since the venue is an out door festival be sure to lather your skin in sun screen. Also you can find some smaller bands that you may not have heard of at the festival as well. Century Media features a stage with a select few of their artists be sure to check out this stage in your free time. You have a chance of finding some of your new favorite bands on this stage. Standout bands
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So sorry I haven't posted very much since I have started my summer break. I'm definitely going get back into the swing of things with the blog. I love blogging and talking with my readers about my music. What are some your favorite festivals you have been to this summer? Leave a comment and let me know! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari I attended the kickoff date of the Vans Warped Tour on June 16th in Seattle, Washington. There was a change in location this year for the people in Washington to the CenturyLink Stadium. The lineup was also quite different compared to other years where people often said that the lineup was to "heavy." Which I have to disagree with there definitely something for everyone. There was alternative, rap, pop punk, metalcore, metal, deathcore, death metal, punk, and so many genres for people of any age group this year. What's different?For those who are dedicated Warped Tour attendees the lineup was completely different compared to the previous years. Warped Tour has always been mainly pop punk with some metalcore and post-hardcore mixed in. With this year there was a varying lineup of bands. You had everything from GWAR to Neck Deep to Jule Vera to Carnifex. There were even more rappers than there has been in the past. Which I really think that benefitted the overall experience because if you have a friend who doesn't necessarily like metalcore or pop punk there would be some music for them. Warped Tour also added two new stages Skullcandy and Hard Rock. What's the same?Several nonprofits have come back this year on Warped Tour to spread their message some of these nonprofits would include Truth and Peta2. As well as the Feed Our Children Now where you can get in the get in early line. Lot's have returned to Warped Tour this year such as New Years Day, Beartooth, Blessthefall, Neck Deep which is nice to see some returning Warped Veterans returning to the tour. Some of these bands are really popular so I really want to overlook this Warped lineup quite yet. What to expectWhat can you expect from this years Vans Warped Tour? A very varied lineup this year. New music, which does play into a varied lineup this year. Who knows as you walking around listening to different you may find one of your new favorite bands. It's happened to me almost every where I have gone to Warped Tour. New music also means bands can debut a new song apart of their set for example New Years Day played a new song called "Disgust Me" and Memphis May Fire played a new song called "Virus." You also have opportunities to meet your favorite bands get their autographs and photos. Bands also walk around during the day so be sure to have your eyes peeled. There's also fake blood, thanks GWAR. It's an overall fun day so I definitely recommend not speaking this Warped Tour. Bands to watchHere's some of the bands I enjoyed watching and that I highly recommend that you check out during the day. If you see any of these bands live definitely let me know what you think!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Are you going to Warped Tour this year? If so comment down below with which date you will be attending. Let me know what bands you'll be seeing this year! I'm back! I kicked off my summer break with Warped Tour so I will be posting a lot more on my blog now that schools out for summer. I have a lot of concert and album reviews that will be coming out for you guys in the next couple of days. Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Wednesday March 23rd, I went to Portland, Oregon to see Chelsea Grin, Ice Nine Kills, Gideon and Enterprise Earth. It was one of the concerts I went to only knowing one band and becoming a fan of most--if not all--bands at the show. This shows the showmanship that comes into play when these bands in gaining new fans by the way they command the crowd. Enterprise EarthEnterprise Earth hail from Seattle, Washington and I had no idea who they were before hand Enterprise Earth put on an amazing live show. They had amazing stage present and they managed to get the crowd moshing before the more well-known bands came out to play. They were great to see live and I definitely want to here more of their music. Don't ignore them. GideonGideon are an amazing metalcore act. They reminded me of For Today, and that's a good thing. The music was heavy and fun to rock out too, I never listened to Gideon before that night but it made appreciate their music more. I definitely think that Gideon has something to offer to the table that cannot be ignored. If you haven't listened to them go check them out. Ice Nine KillsI went to the show to mainly see Ice Nine Kills, they are one of my favorite bands who really give their into each performance. The band did an awesome and played almost all of my favorite songs, they opened their set with "Hell in the Hallways," which got the crowd hyped and singing alone. Some other of my favorite songs they played through the night "Let's Bury The Hatchet...In Your Head," "The Plot Thickens," "Connect The Cuts," "Nature of the Beast" and "Communion of the Cursed." Which had the crowd screaming the words to the songs. They closed out the night with "Me, Myself & Hyde." I also managed to catch a drumstick. Chelsea GrinI wasn't to familiar with Chelsea Grin if we're going to be honest. They put on an amazing live show and they had walls of death, circle pits, and the mosh was insane. They also need played one song of theirs "Never Forever" which is a great sing-along song for a deathcore band. It really gave the guys in the pit a break from the insanity that was taking place and give the people up front a chance to sing their hearts out.
~~~~~~~~ Overall, I would highly recommend people see this concert in a city near you. If you've gone to any dates of this show please let me know your thoughts on the show! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari February 17th, I headed to the kick off date of the Rest In Space Tour in Eugene, Oregon. This was Pierce The Veil's winter headlining tour which with support from Falling In Reverse and Crown The Empire. This was my first time seeing Pierce The Veil live, so I was quite to have the experience. Overall, I would say this tour is fun and engaging which was truly a show to remember. Crown The EmpireCrown The Empire were the first band to go on opening up with the "Zero" off of their latest album Retrograde, I would say that was a strong song to get the crowd entertained and I would describe "Zero" as a pumped up song. After removing Dave Escamilla from the band vocalist, Andy Leo, has taken full vocals clean and unclean. I was very intrigued to see how they would pull of the nights performance without Escamilla, after seeing them since his departure I will say it does feel like their is an element missing from the band. Leo's unclean vocals were good but not as powerful as Escamilla's. My favorite song off their set would be "Hologram." Falling In Reverse Falling In Reverse are a band I have not kept up with in quite some time. They played songs off of their most recent album Just Like You but had a good mix from songs off of Fashionably Late and The Drug In Me Is You. An interesting dynamic to their set was vocalist, Ronnie Radke, having supporting vocals from drummer, Ryan Seaman, which is something you don't see very often. The few things I didn't like about their performance was the way Radke moved around on stage it seemed just a little stiff and unnatural to me and how he sang with his mouth full of chips since I was not going to enjoy covered in someone else's have eaten food...luckily I didn't any crumbs spewed my way. The most highlighted points in the set for me was definitely their song "Loser" and watching Radke playing guitar onstage for "Coming Home." My song off their set would be "Loser." Pierce The VeilThere were three songs I wanted Pierce The Veil to play, the three being "Dive In," "Caraphernelia," and "Floral and Fading" which they played all three. Pierce The Veil have honestly blew me away with their live performance they had an engaging set, even though they had a barrier they were still able to interact with fans. Speaking of fans, Pierce The Veil also had pulled a fan from the crowd, right for the beginning of "Bulletproof Love", Vic Fuentes had sang to a young girl. They played "Stay Away from My Friends" which was an utter surprise and a nice change of pace compared to the rest of the set. Pierce The Veil closed the set with "Hold On Till May" and encore included "Circles" and "King for a Day" which made the crowd loose their minds.
My favorite song off their set would be "Circles" or "Dive In" Overall I would totally recommend going to one of the dates off their shows on this tour. ~~~~~~~~ This is totally opinion based and my first review of a concert. Did you go to the show what did you think?
