Concert Reviews
Wednesday March 23rd, I went to Portland, Oregon to see Chelsea Grin, Ice Nine Kills, Gideon and Enterprise Earth. It was one of the concerts I went to only knowing one band and becoming a fan of most--if not all--bands at the show. This shows the showmanship that comes into play when these bands in gaining new fans by the way they command the crowd. Enterprise EarthEnterprise Earth hail from Seattle, Washington and I had no idea who they were before hand Enterprise Earth put on an amazing live show. They had amazing stage present and they managed to get the crowd moshing before the more well-known bands came out to play. They were great to see live and I definitely want to here more of their music. Don't ignore them. GideonGideon are an amazing metalcore act. They reminded me of For Today, and that's a good thing. The music was heavy and fun to rock out too, I never listened to Gideon before that night but it made appreciate their music more. I definitely think that Gideon has something to offer to the table that cannot be ignored. If you haven't listened to them go check them out. Ice Nine KillsI went to the show to mainly see Ice Nine Kills, they are one of my favorite bands who really give their into each performance. The band did an awesome and played almost all of my favorite songs, they opened their set with "Hell in the Hallways," which got the crowd hyped and singing alone. Some other of my favorite songs they played through the night "Let's Bury The Hatchet...In Your Head," "The Plot Thickens," "Connect The Cuts," "Nature of the Beast" and "Communion of the Cursed." Which had the crowd screaming the words to the songs. They closed out the night with "Me, Myself & Hyde." I also managed to catch a drumstick. Chelsea GrinI wasn't to familiar with Chelsea Grin if we're going to be honest. They put on an amazing live show and they had walls of death, circle pits, and the mosh was insane. They also need played one song of theirs "Never Forever" which is a great sing-along song for a deathcore band. It really gave the guys in the pit a break from the insanity that was taking place and give the people up front a chance to sing their hearts out.
~~~~~~~~ Overall, I would highly recommend people see this concert in a city near you. If you've gone to any dates of this show please let me know your thoughts on the show! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari
