Artist Of The Month
As a music fan we get to enjoy and find new artists whose art we love. I think that's there's some sort of excitement when it comes to finding a band or artist who you really connect with. So I decided to compile a list of 10 bands I really got into this past year. 10. Bad Seed RisingBad Seed Rising is a band I really got into this past year and unfortunately they also happened to break up this past year as well. Bad Seed Rising were a young a band that had a strong sound and could prove that age could be just a number. Bad Seed Rising is a band that I continue listen to even though they have broken this past year. 9. Fit For A KingI got to see Fit For A King at Warped Tour 2017, I loved their heavy style and how they just have a really aggressive sound that just want to you to mosh. I definitely have been coming back to this band a lot since seeing them at Warped Tour. I definitely, have been listening to them a lot since seeing them live and I definitely have been enjoying their album Deathgrip. 8. VIMICVIMIC is a band that I saw when I saw Motionless In White and In This Moment live in North Dakota this past summer. It's Joey Jordison, former Slipknot drummer's, new project and I definitely enjoy their new sound and I love their metal sound. Their music is heavy, haunting, and captivates you every time you listen to the band. I'm definitely looking forward to their debut album that is due to come out in 2018. 7. Into The FloodInto The Flood are local band to me, they're from Tacoma, Washington and are probably one of my favorite local bands in metal. I think that is important to support local bands because sometimes they can often be overlooked when by bands who are much more popular bands. This band definitely has talent and I recommend you check out their song "The Glass House My Father Build." 6. StarsetI watched Starset on the APMAS for the very first time this past year. I definitely loved their interesting stage presence and their intergalactic sound that can capture anyone's attention. I thought what the band was doing was something different and unique which you don't get to see that much anymore and I am definitely glad that I was able to check out this band this year. 5. Sworn InLike Fit For A King and Bad Seed Rising I found Sworn In at Warped Tour 2017 this is a band that definitely have a more chaotic sound that seem keep coming back to. They definitely have angsty lyrics but I think we all can enjoy some angst now and then. Sworn In's style has grown on me quite quickly and enjoy their sound so much so that All Smiles was one of my top albums that came out this year. 4. DEDDed is a band that I quickly fell in love with this year, they are a nu metal band from Phoenix, Arizona and you will not forget who Ded is. They wear white contacts that completely cover their eyes and it will definitely haunt you especially in their music videos. I highly recommend you check out Ded because this band is on the brink of taking off this year. 3. Nothing MoreNothing More are another band that I quickly fell in love this year. I think that they definitely have a unique sound that not to many rock bands have now. Their vocalist, Jonny Hawkins, is probably one of my new favorite vocalists I think that his voice quite different and not like any other rock musician that I have ever heard before. Nothing More has quickly become one of my new favorite bands. 2. The Charm The FuryThe Charm The Fury are an amazing metal band from Amsterdam, they have are heavy and create great music. Vocalist, Caroline Westendorp, can prove that girls can scream just as good (or even better) than the boys in metal can. Metal is a male dominated genre and The Charm The Fury show show how that girls can own metal. They use elements of nu metal, groove metal, and metalcore. 1. Cane HillNu metal rockers, Cane Hill, are no strangers to the blog. Cane Hill are a band that I've definitely listened to a lot this year I love how they draw influence from bands of the '90s such Korn, Slipknot, Alice In Chains, and maybe even a little Marilyn Manson. It is a great example of how young bands can still create music that is different than other metalcore bands in the scene. I've definitely listened to Cane Hill a lot this year and I recommend you check out this band.
