In This Moment's frontwoman, Maria Brink, is thinking about releasing a solo album, apart from her main project of 13 years. This after In This Moment released their sixth album Ritual last summer.
In an interview with Metal Hammer, Brink discusses the possibility of her releasing a solo album. "I'm actually thinking, for the first time, of doing a solo album, I'm starting to slowly write—no hard plans. I'm not exactly sure when I'm gonna do it, but it'll be more of the obscure, intimate, quiet side of me." Brink also says main cowriter for In This Moment, Chris Howorth, will not be featured on her possible solo album. She also tells Metal Hammer, "Probably the only drums in it would be tribal drums and probably no distorted guitars. Just the softer side of me. That's who I am. Chris would not want to do an obscure, artistic, dream-scaping album. That's not who he is." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What do you think about Maria Brink's future solo album? Frontman of the popular nu metal band, Korn, Jonathan Davis, confirmed that he is releasing a solo album in 2018. He jumped on Facebook live to confirm this album was in the works has been a 10 year long process.
Davis' solo album was supposed to be under with the band Jonathan Davis and the Simply Fucking Amazings, but after their and Korn's guitarist, Shane Gibson, in 2014 Davis decided to release the album under his own name. In the Facebook livestream Davis said, "I'm finishing my record finally, It's been… I started it in 2008, so I guess it'll be 10 years of work. It's the J.D.S.F.A. [Jonathan Davis and the Simply Fucking Amazings] record, but J.D. S.F.A. is no longer. Unfortunately, since Shane's passed, that band's done and it can't be recreated. So this is J.D. right now … I'm really excited. I've been working on these songs for 10 years, and it's turned out amazing. So there'll be a record coming out next year. I just shot videos yesterday for a couple of songs, and the tour will be next year." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Are you excited to hear Jonathan Davis' solo record? Shinoda has been posting progress in the studio on his Instagram story. Shinoda wrote "Looking For An Answer" after the heartbreaking passing of band mate and friend, Chester Bennington, last July. Shinoda preformed an early version of the song in October at the Hollywood Bowl for the Linkin Park and Friends Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington memorial concert. In a recent interview Mike Shinoda had told Billboard, "Grief is a non-linear process, It doesn't have 'stages' that go in order, it has phases that come and go at random. Some people are having sad days, others are having good days, others are having angry days... add the constant stress and fear of things like the news cycle, and you've got some exceptional chaos on your hands!" Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Sometime last month, Pierce The Veil drummer, Mike Fuentes, was accused of sexual assault to a woman who took to social media to share her story. It took a while for Pierce The Veil to address the accusation made against Fuentes. This morning Pierce The Veil took to social media and released a statement regarding the situation.
"From the day we started this band, the four of us agreed that we not only wanted to write and play songs together for the rest of our lives, but we also wanted to build a strong community through our music and provide a safe place for ourselves and our fans to express our shared values through creativity, open-mindedness, love and respect. Over the last ten years we have accomplished that and so much more with the help of our incredible fans. The bond that we share in this community is stronger than we could have ever imagined and is truly our pride and joy. Recently, an allegation was made about Mike from an anonymous source pertaining to events dating back nearly ten years ago. We are taking this allegation seriously and would like to share the steps we are taking in response. Below are a few words from Mike. “I’m of course aware of the allegation made about me from almost ten years ago, and I cannot begin to describe how difficult and disturbing this entire situation has been for everyone involved. I do not take this allegation lightly and would never downplay it. I have empathy for any human being who has experienced abuse or mistreatment in their lives, and I am inspired to see so many come forward and speak out about it. No one should have to suffer in silence, and I am thankful that the world is finally starting to listen. I also want to assure you that I have never intentionally manipulated or abused anyone in my life. That is not the person I am, how I was raised, or the type of behavior that I condone. I strongly believe in the empowerment of abuse victims, so if I have ever made anyone feel like they are less than equal, I am sincerely sorry. I love playing music more than anything on earth, and I am constantly humbled by the support of our fans. I do not want the allegation surrounding me to negatively affect the reputation or future of the band, or to break the bond and trust that we have created with our fans over the years. So, I have decided to take a break and step away from my position in the band in hopes that this will allow my band mates and fans to continue focusing on the music and message that Pierce The Veil stands for. Though I am far from perfect, I do have a moral compass and try to stand up for what is right. While away from the band, I will continue to work hard to live my life in that way.” Since the allegation first surfaced, our band has discussed how we can ensure the PTV community is always a safe environment. We’ve made many efforts over the years to protect our fans, and we can and will do more. We believe in creating spaces where people can seek help for any issues they are struggling with and provide resources and tools to help. As a band, we are respecting Mike’s decision to take break and step away. Unfortunately, without a core member of the band, we will be respectfully withdrawing from the upcoming U.K. tour with All Time Low. We promise our fans that we will be back again very soon." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What do you think of the band's statement and decision? Leave a comment down below! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari In an exclusive with Billboard Magazine Kevin Lyman announced that Warped Tour 2018 will be the last full country tour. Here is Kevin Lyman's statement looking back on the twenty three years of Warped Tour.
“I have been a very lucky person to have traveled across the country and sometimes around the world as one of the founders and producers of the Vans Warped Tour. Today, with many mixed feelings, I am here to announce that next year will be the final, full cross-country run of the Vans Warped Tour. I sit here reflecting on the tour’s incredible history, what the final run means for our community, and look forward to what’s to come as we commemorate the tour’s historic 25th anniversary in 2019. In 1995, I had already worked many years in the music business, including spending four summers on the Lollapalooza tour, and I thought, ‘for one summer I would like go out and put on my own show’ mixing music and action sports. With the support of so many people, I have now spent the last 23 summers bringing that show to a city near you. We have brought that show to over 11 million people around the world and watched that same world change while doing so. I have been proud to work with so many artists who have grown to be some of the largest stars in the world. Countless bands have played in hot parking lots and through summer storms for you at some point. Bands like Quicksand, Sublime, L7, No Use for A Name and No Doubt jumped on in the very first year. Touring many summers with my friends and peers like – Pennywise, Social Distortion, NOFX, Bad Religion, The Descendents, Less Than Jake, Dropkick Murphy’s, The Bouncing Souls, Rancid, Flogging Molly, Anti-Flag and The Offspring are just some of my fondest memories. More include, having Blink-182 travel on my bus in 1997 when the world opened up to them and made them the superstars they are today. The Vans Warped Tour was the platform to witness the rise of pop punk with Sum 41, Simple Plan, MXPX, New Found Glory and Good Charlotte. The birth of Emo – with bands like Thrice, Thursday, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, The Starting Line, Motion City Soundtrack and Jimmy Eat World. Fast-forward to the summer in 2005 when TRL and Warped Tour helped launch the careers of Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and Avenged Sevenfold. I witnessed Warped alumni like The Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, No Doubt and even Kid Rock play the Super Bowl. I’ve even had the pleasure of seeing Green Day play the Rose Bowl. More recently, I’ve watched bands start out on a small stage and work their way up to the main stages by meeting as many fans as possible and continuing to hone their craft while on the tour. Bands like Paramore, A Day To Remember, Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, Echosmith, Motionless in White, Black Veil Brides, Every Time I Die, Neck Deep, Beartooth and so many more. What has always made me proud was when I read that Warped was the most diverse show of the summer where you could find Eminem and Ice-T on the same stages as Sevendust, Pennywise, and 7 Seconds. I am so grateful to have worked with more than 1,700 bands over the last 23 summers. I wish I could thank every band that has played the tour. The Vans Warped Tour has become the community I had always hoped for. We have worked with over 90 non-profits each summer shining a light on new and growing groups giving our community the resources they need to connect with people who can help them, but also encourages our community to help each other. To Write Love on Her Arms, Music Saves Lives, Feed The Children Now, Keep a Breast, Hope For The Day, Canvas Foundation, Living The Dream and A Voice for the Innocent have built their organizations from the Warped Tour parking lots across the country. This even inspired me to start my own foundation Unite the United. The work we do each summer on “give back days” has become part of our DNA. My brain is etched with the image of the church ladies after Katrina serving beans and rice to The Casualties with their upright mohawks, finding a common ground where no one was judging anyone. Then finding out the only working business in the county seemed to be the moonshine still and the locals showing up with a crate to share with the crew later that evening. The long hot days that ended around a BBQ with food, drink and more music are some of the best times. Enjoying the days off, taking people jet boating, house boating, river rafting and sometimes even skydiving. I witnessed lifelong friendships being made, sparks of romance that led to ‘Warped weddings,’ and unfortunately now, more notices of passings where a proper good bye was not able to be said. I want to thank my supportive family who has been through the highs and lows, Darryl Eaton at CAA, Steve Van Doren and Vans, Kate, Julie, Allison and Steph. My hard ass working crew who puts that show up and down each day, the sponsors which without them this tour would not happen, the bands and their crews, the promoters who took a risk on us at the beginning and continue to be supportive. It will be bittersweet each morning when I see the sun rise and then watch it set knowing that this will be the last time I get to witness it from that exact spot. Though the tour and the world have changed since ’95, the same feeling of having the ‘best summer ever’ will live on through the bands, the production teams, and the fans that come through at every stop. The enduring spirit of the Vans Warped Tour remains as bright as ever, continuing to inspire creativity and ambition in new and exciting ways as we prepare for a 25th anniversary celebration in 2019. I truly look forward to seeing as many of you as possible during this final cross country run, and getting to thank you for your support on this wild adventure. Until then, take care and be safe.” – Kevin Lyman (Founder of the Vans Warped Tour) Along with that here are the dates for Warped Tour 2018

Underworld is set to be released January 12th of next year with Hopeless Records.
Tonight Alive vocalist, Jenna McDougall, told Newcastle Herald about Taylor's feature. He is featured on closing track of the album called "My Underworld." "He's just a really great man who was happy to lend his voice to our song," McDougall said about Taylor. "And he expressed he's a fan of our music—which is hard to believe—and it was so heartwarming to hear that." McDougall also goes on to praise Taylor, "I've never seen a band put on a show like Slipknot and I really, really respect Corey Taylor and his dynamics in his voice and his presence as a frontman." Underworld will also feature Lynn Gunn of PVRIS on the track "I Disappear." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Are you looking forward to January for Tonight Alive's new album? Leave a comment down below! Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari SOURCES https://www.altpress.com/news/entry/corey_taylor_tonight_alive_underworld Nü metal has been a genre that I've always enjoyed. It allows the aspect for artists infuse different genres into the aspect of heavy metal. Whether it be hip hop, grunge, alternative, it all falls into the category of nü metal. I always have been intrigued in the flow of the genre and how it can differ depending on the artists interpretation of the genre. There are some many new emerging nü metal artists emerging from the scene that are proving that the genre is far from being dead. Here is my list of 5 new and old nü metal bands that have redefined metal or are on their way too. 5. SlipknotFavorite Song: Snuff Favorite Album: .5: The Grey Chapter If you as anyone who listens to nü metal they probably will sight Slipknot as one of their favorite bands from the genre. They are a classic to the genre and are practically metal gods. They have shaped the music with their insane live shows, mysterious persona with their masked faces, and haunted lyrics. I'm sure most people have heard Slipknot at least once in their life and the band. 4. IslanderFavorite song: Cold Speak Favorite album: Violence & Destruction Islander are no strangers to this blog, they are definitely one of my favorite nü metal bands. They have amazing music that is both upbeat and heavy they pull from several different genres. After listening to Islander you will definitely be in a better mood because their music will genuinely put you in a better mood. 3. DedFavorite Song: Inside Favorite Album: mis•an•thrope Ded, probably most recognizable from their completely white contacts, they're probably one of my favorite band's who just emerged in 2016. This band is definitely going to be huge in the future so definitely check out this band. They're music definitely screams nü metal is definitely still thriving in the music scene today and and isn't dying out soon. You'll definitely be hooked on Ded's music upon the first listen, I know I definitely was. 2. Cane HillFavorite Song: St. Veronica Favorite Album: Smile I recently got into Cane Hill, after hearing their music when looking for bands to play on the radio show I host All Warped Up! Instantly, I fell in love with their music and have been listening nonstop. Though, I'm sure most of you have heard of them if you are involved with Warped Tour bands since they did play in 2016. Cane Hill's music sound like a mix of Korn, Slipknot and Marilyn Manson and I'm a huge fan of all of those bands/artists. Definitely checkout this band if you haven't yet, you won't regret it I promise. 1. Linkin ParkFavorite Song: Wretches and Kings
Favorite Album: Hybrid Theory Linkin Park were one of the first rock band's I ever fell in love with as a kid, so I had to include them. Linkin Park introduced me to a new concept of music that I probably wouldn't have been super interested if it weren't from them. They combine elements of hip hop and rock n' roll together so seamlessly you can just fall in love the delivery of the lyrics. Linkin Park have something special about them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I hope you guys enjoyed today's countdown! Please leave me a comment with your favorite nü metal bands! Also, I'm thinking of created a set schedule of when to post content for you on the blog instead of posting sporadically like I have been doing for the past year now. (Can you believe Feel The Pulse is nearly 1 years old now? They grow up so fast!) Until then, See you in the pit! 🤘 Mari Conservative news network, Fox News, has been taking shots at popular alternative rock band, Radiohead, everyone has one question that being simply "why?" It all started when on television when Kat Timpf appeared on Greg Gutfeld's talk show and and called Radiohead's music "Just elaborate moaning and whining over ringtones sounds." Later going on to say Radiohead's fanbase is nothing but "strange, malnourished, and sad."
Though Radiohead guitarist, Jonny Greenwood, later changed his Twitter bio to read, "My life in the gush of boasts...strange, malnourished, and sad." Gutfeld chimed and said that Radiohead was the "poor man's Coldplay" and that Radiohead stole everything from the piano rock band. Coldplay responded to this with a joking tweet saying, "Finally somebody's got the guts to say it!" Though my friends...the story does not end here... Fox News has continued to take jabs at Radiohead most recently being the Gutfeld's claim would that he would ban Radiohead from playing in public places. And comparing Radiohead to lice. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What do you think of the Radiohead and Fox News' unlikely beef? Let me know in the comment section down below! Do you think Fox News is taking it too far. I would love to know! Until then, See you in the pit! Mari SOURCE http://www.nme.com/news/music/fox-news-radiohead-lice-2154674 Halloween is almost upon us and we all definitely need for this season. Definitely check out these songs and include them in your in Halloween playlist. It's where we can be how weird as we want to be...or if you're like me just blend in. Here are some of my favorite songs to blast during the Halloween season. 5. Abigail by Motionless In White"Abigail" by Motionless In White is off of their debut album, Creatures, it is based off of the famous Arthur Miller play the Crucible. It highlights the story of Abigail Williams during the Salem Witch Trials and how she was accusing everyone of being witches. It's a nice aggressive track and something that definitely will be a fun listen and it something that will be perfect for this Halloween season. 4. Hate Me by Ded"Hate Me" is off of nu metal band Ded's recent debut album mis•an•thrope the song starts out with what a man speaking with a static of it say, that the thing wouldn't want to do is scare the children. Ded are a really great nu-metal band that definitely brings back the classic nu-metal sound that everyone loves in a more modern. Ded have quickly become one of my favorite bands and this song is something I definitely be blasting this Halloween. 3. Infected by Eyes Set To Kill"Infected" off of Eyes Set To Kill's most recent album Masks is a song that is gritty dark and leaves you feeling haunted. The dark and gritty music video that goes a long with the song really adds something unsettling to the song. The song real is captures how dark the track is the music video that follows along with the song. The song really captivates and makes and draws you in because the song has a nice hook and keeps the listener engaged throughout the song. 2. Sex Metal Barbie by In This Moment"Sex Metal Barbie" is off of the band's 2014 release Black Widow this song is kind of a dark, mysterious, and includes a dark and twisted song. It's perfect for the Halloween season with haunting imagery and the dark tones of the In This Moment song and you cannot go wrong with any In This Moment songs this Halloween. Though if you just want to start with one song I recommend this one. 1. Communion of the Cursed by Ice Nine Kills"Communion of the Cursed" is off of Ice Nine Kill's 2015 release Every Trick in the Book the song is based off of the novel the Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. The song is dark and really highlights the exorcism of the character, Reagan, in the story. It's an interesting take on the classic horror tell and I think that it's perfect to listen for Halloween. I actually believe Ice Nine Kills have said that the intro to the song is a recorded clip of a real life exorcism. So listen at your own risk.
